DC's Atlantic Council Raked In Funding From Hunter Biden's Ukrainian Employer While Courting His VP Father

The partnership has paid for lavish conferences in Monaco and helped bring Burisma’s oligarchic founder out of the cold.

As Biden parries Trump’s accusations, some of the former vice president’s most ardent defenders are emerging from the halls of the Atlantic Council, which featured Biden as a star speaker at its awards ceremonies over the years. These advocates include Michael Carpenter, Biden’s longtime foreign policy advisor and specialist on Ukraine, who has taken to the national media to support his embattled boss.

Even as Burisma’s trail of influence-buying finds its way into front page headlines, the Atlantic Council’s partnership with the company is scarcely mentioned. Homing in on the partisan theater of “Ukrainegate” and tuning out the wider landscape of corruption, the Beltway press routinely runs quotes from Atlantic Council experts on the scandal without acknowledging their employer’s relationship with Hunter Biden’s former employer.

As far as I'm concerned, we need a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting the spouses/First Ladies/First Husbands of former Presidents and Vice-Presidents, from running for President or Vice-President IF the original spouse has already completed 8 years in the office. If only 4 years completed then they should only be allowed to run for 4 years MAX.

This country can do much better than Michelle throwing another 8 years of Obama out there, or Hillary creating another Slick Wille.

329 million people in this country, if that's the best we can come up with, recycling the same old political families, we have a serious problem. There has got to be some MUCH better choices out there.

As it is, what is there to prevent the spouse of a current President from running and creating a presidency basically lasting 16 years?

Term limits and do away with career politicians. Probably should do the same with most high level government jobs.

Biden was a US Senator from 1973 to 2009. Doesn't say much for the State of Delaware I guess, if he was all they could come up with.

lifelong ever expanding bureaucracy is the worst...but the alternative is perpetual newbies...smaller more localized govt with a strong but limited fedgov is the answer IMO...
