Support your local team

Post by Big Bob »

Sam Magazine is again having a contest on which ski area has the best snowmaking team. This year Killington is one of these areas. Cast your vote for Team K, maybe the should of referred to themselves as the Jamaican Bobsledding Team.

Since you can vote every day, would it be ethical to vote multiple times per day if you have multiple emails?

Since you can vote every day and use multiple email addresses, does this poll/contest mean anything at all, other than who has the most customers with time on their hands, and how many skier addresses SAM can collect and sell?

Nothing wrong with getting e mail updates on the ski industry. At least we will now have facts to back up our comments rather than rumors! Vote early and often!

Another thread quickly spirlaing into the Kzone quagmire !!

How bout a Ski-Off to decide? Or would it be a Blow-Off?

Looking back, I wonder if any other resort could compete with our team. Recent accomplishments include the Mixing Bowl fan gun incident and let us not for the Vertigo Ice Cone !!!!!
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down

Any area with that much equipment on the hill, both distribution and actual production, is going to have issues. Some are just more visible to the customer than others, but rest assured, all of the major players have their fair share of snowmaking issues.

I have met a large number of fellow snowmakers and snow surface managers over the years, and in my book, it is tough to compete with Killington. Not only do they have the largest (and unique) system to operate, but they have managers from the top on down with the most cumulative years of experience. This translates to the green snowmaker walking in the door having the tools and training to do their job effectively.

SAM is read by a lot of industry professionals. It would be a nice feather in the snow makers caps if they won. So many here say “all I care about is the snow making” and when it comes time to actually do something for the people that make it happen, you whine about the process or find some other excuse not to help.
“I don’t like how the voting works”
“OOH, a fan gun froze up”
Really? What a bunch of hypocrites. Shut up and vote for your guys; team’s done top notch work this season, they deserve the recognition.

I fully support the ops team. A little voter corruption never hurt when it comes to supporting K. If people can come to NH to vote from MA. I'm all about rigging this poll. Thanks BB. :like
