I'm just basing my projection on how the virus escalated in Italy. They went from a few reported cases to quarantining 25% of the country in less than 20 days.

The Biogen event involved hundreds of people interacting with multiple thousands of people in the Boston area. There are likely hundreds of people out there in greater Boston right now not showing symptoms, yet.

They had several cases reported on March 6th related to that event, now today it's over 20 cases. All those people interacted with a bunch of random people that are outside the Marriott staff quarantine.

The event was week of Feb 24-28th and March 4th. Thus if you pick Feb 26th, 3 weeks out is March 18th - that is when things will really start to get out of hand, about 10 days from now.

If you live in Boston, NYC or an immediate suburb, I would recommend being prepared to get out in the next seven days, for as long as a month.

Who cares what the terminology is, what "your guy" thinks of the virus, or who is reporting what. The bottom line is this is a very contagious and very deadly (esp for older folks) virus. Instead you are going to squabble about whether CNN is calling it a pandemic or not, whether the economic impact is attributable to Trump or not etc. All entirely unimportant in the scheme of things and you guys are going to figure out when this picks up more. Maybe we need something like this to stop pointless tribal political arguments that border on mental illness. There are objectively much more important things to devote our brain power and time to.
