"When you really look at what Donald Trump has done, he has had a concentrated interest in the black community and he's done things specifically, he feels, to help the black community — whether it's economic, whether it's criminal justice reform — whatever it is, he gets absolutely no credit for that," Levin said. "Whereas Obama is treated like, 'Wow, look at all the wonderful things he's done for the black community.' As best as I can tell, he didn't do anything significant for the black community."

"Not only did [Obama] not do anything significant, he made things worse," Elder said.

He went on to review a number of counter-productive actions and statements made by the former president that have been especially damaging to race relations in the United States.

"In my opinion, Obama has made things worse, has given black people the impression that the police are out to get them," Elder emphasized. "And, if you look at the polls, race relations fell precipitously in the second half of Obama's second term, and have improved during the three years that President Trump has been in office."

New Gallup polling shows a double-digit increase (14%) in the state of race relations since President Donald Trump took office — a far cry from what the mainstream media airwaves echo to viewers every day.

Changes Since Trump Took Office
As Trump enters his re-election year, Americans are more positive on eight key issues than they were just before he took office in January 2017.

Gallup records double-digit increases in public satisfaction with the nation's economy, security from terrorism, military strength and the state of race relations.

Satisfaction is also up by between six and nine points on crime, the position of blacks and other racial minorities, the distribution of income and wealth, and the opportunity for a person to get ahead through hard work.

“Gallup’s survey demonstrates numerous categories in which the President has improved the lives of Americans since relieving Barack Obama of his duties in January of 2017,” The Political Insider reported Tuesday on the polling.

“The polling indicates double-digit improvements in how Americans view the nation’s economy, security from terrorism, military strength and … the state of race relations,” the report added.
