Just had looked at the webcam, funny that the top still has a strip of snow, on a typical late season warm day, that wouldn't have lasted to 9:30. (boy, I miss those fun days that we've had each season...almost every skier/rider had huge smiles on their faces (unless they had just fallen in dirt & rocks- but sometimes still smiling even after a fall!))

I was wondering the same thing on melt date. Questioning if the snow not being groomers or not being skied on or both had slowed the melting. Where did the base stand before they closed verses other years? From the Web cam it's hard to estimate the the bottom pile looks pretty deep. Was that the the push out pike for the lift lone that was not used? A random guess on melting beyond being able to seen in Web cam is June 25th.

That's still more then there was that day we were there Friday memorial weekend a couple years ago when there was nothing on the top. They had to create a strip about 15 feet wide. It lasted about an hour before you had to climb down the rocks and dirt. It was still fun!

nice pics GIS. i like the distant shot without any of the base area showing. makes one appreciate that much snow when everything is so green and lush.

HS: definitely get that checked. not normal;0]

the hill certainly looks way better than it did june 1a few years back - when it was three patches starting halfway down the "head" wall (cue humpty's tired "you're ignorant" rant - you should get that checked too. might need different meds?)

The melting rate definitely seems far slower than all prior years -- the webcam makes it look worse than it really is, since the missing "S" appears more prominent than its actual vertical.
(I was amazed yesterday that I was recording laps of over 900' vert!)

My hunch (or is that "hope" not hunch?) is that 100' vertical will remain by July 1, or at least I'm planning on "skiing" that day.
I've skied on Mt Washington in July, and in many places out West in July (and August), but skiing in Vermont in July, that would be one of those things that is worth doing for the sake of doing them, i.e., as opposed to the actual inherent pleasure.
(My other thing like that is having once "skied" on June 1 at Wachusett! Took ten laps though to add up to 100' vertical.)

I am up there, mostly when my wife drags me up to the golf course, most days.

I got some time to get my bet in!
