So a bunch of boats all in the same water, same wind, all given the exact same opportunities to move forward... but some are likely to sink if the biggest ones operate without considering their effect on the little ones... weird.

Clearly these bigger boats have the right to operate however they see fit. This is America and here we have individual freedoms. Those with smaller boats just need to work harder to earn more so they can get bigger boats and stay afloat. All that government spending on helping people from the smaller boats is a waste. We shouldn't be propping up losers. Unless of course it's a really big boat, then it's too big to fail.
