Should Congress vote to impeach President Trump as a result of his actions on January 6th? Why or why not?

Note: I posted this in the Political Forum but left a link in Chatter to get the broadest range of opinions.

He incited and openly praised a group of terrorists breaking into the capitol with a motive to harm senators, house members and Vice President Pence. He’s spewed false info to rile up his side about voter fraud, 60 lawsuits that all have been thrown out and only two votes of dead people voting were discovered. These votes were for trump. He may only have weeks left but that does not mean he deserves the pension and protection from secret service and the US people’s taxes. The precedent must be set that this is unacceptable and embarrassing behavior from a president.

Hell yes! It may be too late to remove him from office but a conviction would ban him from ever running for office again. Hopefully the whole Trump crime family will be in prison by 2024 anyway.

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death.

Sounds like the Biden family. Swalwell and Fang Fang.

If you want to drive the wedge further between the right and left, impeachment will do it.

What do you all think about Big Tech censorship of free speech? True facist behavior on display.

Only because this would ensure Drumph’s ineligibility for any future national office.
He’s pretty boxed in right now. Congress’s focus needs to be on matters that guide our future.

Not sure what facism is  .. but Big Tech reining-in Magoo’s abhorrent behavior is long overdue.
SDNY .. ready to pounce :like

This take sounds like “Do what we want or we will make you pay with more violence”.

As for big tech ... the First Amendment prohibits government censorship and does not apply to decisions made by private businesses.

That's a slippery slope (pun intended).

I'm old enough to remember when liberals were for the 1st amendment.

Would you be fine with Isis using Twitter within US borders to organize an attack on the Capitol?
