I kept my money over the river this winter. No pass. No bar and food bill. (sorry uncle Sal) All materials for work in VT were bought out of state. Anything I needed was brought in from out of state. Booze, lumber, food , fuel and etc. VT can suck it. Quarantine was not being upheld. Go back through and look at this site. Bay one parties still happen. As much as I enjoy untracked snow, it is sad how empty Cannon was all season midweek. I think I'll try to research what their assumed visits were when the season ends. I'll be happy sharing the slopes with others spring skiing at Killington, not many good mogul runs created with the lack of people at Cannon.
That and they groomed Upper Hardscrable. Why??!!! The cats got Lower Hardscrable when they added snowmaking there!DES wrote: ↑Apr 8th, '21, 08:25As much as I enjoy untracked snow, it is sad how empty Cannon was all season midweek. Overall K seemed to retain its usual crowds, but Xmas, MLK, and Presidents were definitely less crowded than previous years, and I think that accounts for a lot of revenue. You also had a slow start to the snow season in Dec/Jan so that couldn't have helped either. But keep in mind the article is talking about VT totals not K totals, and this thing probably hit K a lot less hard than it did many other places, like Jay.biged wrote:Didn't notice that in skier visits. They must make a fortune in the bars.
Weekends were way down. Put full chairs up on the hill and there would have been no lines anywhere.easyrider16 wrote: ↑Apr 9th, '21, 05:04Overall K seemed to retain its usual crowds, but Xmas, MLK, and Presidents were definitely less crowded than previous years, and I think that accounts for a lot of revenue. The state of Vermont has recently updated their travel restrictions. Beginning tomorrow, Friday, April 9, visitors to Vermont no longer need to quarantine as long as they have a negative COVID test within 3 days of entering the state.
K 1 Lodge won't be finished till the following season per latest schedule.hillbangin wrote: ↑Apr 9th, '21, 07:28Weekends were way down. Weekdays looked way up. Monday was the old Friday.
Agree on Jay - they had a great local year.
Mountain did a great job in spite of the small crowds. Kept the guns going.
Looking forward to next year and the new K1.
