Either she’s gotten really bad advice on travel in and out of Russia or she’s just not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I feel bad for her, but I wouldn't bring cannabis oil with me thru an airport in the US let alone Russia.

Its Russia, she could have been set up to serve Putin's purposes. I'll wait a while to see what shakes out of the trees.

Sure, but she likely got paid a lot of money to do it - probably more than she makes in the WNBA. I suspect this is probably just stupidity and hubris rather than anything nefarious involving Putin.

.. to the dismay of those others still captive in Gulags.
Those other families have a right to be pissed.
Griner wasn't worth all this fuss. Might be different if she was an exemplary person. Not even close.

Why is she not “an exemplary person”?

I dont think sucker punching someone in the face or the enraged chasing down an opponent on a hoop court is evidence of rational or exemplary behaviour.

Butt that's OMO.

Poor Whelan 😕

Whelan served with the Marines from 2003-2008 as an administrative clerk in Iraq. Shortly thereafter he was dishonorably discharged for larceny and other offenses, after being found to have tried to steal $10,000.

Not sure Whelan demonstrates rational or exemplary behavior either. However, both deserve to be home.
