Update on a couple of things

Post by pizzamoose »

So this data recovery thing is a bore. I've tried a freeware software and two shareware softwares (made by the same company.)

The freeware software took up to 2 hours just to scan the drive, which is 160GB. Shareware took about 90 minutes. Recovery was abigger problem The freeware crashed upon recovert. Shareware won't recover a file larger than 64k because it's shareware. Both found a few of the files I needed, but not enough.. :(

I am going to try a piece of commercial sw next.

WHile this SW was working, I had nothing to do. So I did my 3-mile run this afternoon. It is freaking hot outside!! The heat made that run my hardest yet, even though I ran it REALLY slow (slower than 12 minutes/mile).

I went swimming later this afternoon, and when I came back I found that the freeware had crashed.

I am guessing that I've lost 20-25 lbs so far. Dropped from 360 to about 335. I can fit into some clothes now that I couldn't fit into before. So far so good..

You have to ask yourself....is all that porn really worth it? Lol j/k

But seriously....if this data is worth so much to you...you should:
a.) Take it somewhere so the data can be retrieved
b.) Next time remember this....RAID 1

I don't think it's porn, I think it's GPS addresses and phone numbers to all his favorite restaurants, take-out and delivery places

lol...just kidding pizzamouse...that's your new name for losing all that weight...

No need to run at 85+. Especially with what I would hope is your temporary baggage.

SkiDork has started to do some running too. He went for a short run today I guess because of the heat.
