I'm starting this new thread so we can all enjoy Trump's legal woes. Intelligent discussion only please...no Fancypants or Throbster.
This removes the Cannon factor so there's a great chance that we'll see felony convictions this time. :D :D

I think the documents case before Cannon is extremely straightforward and I don't see a defense. This new set of charges is a lot more difficult. The prosecutor will have to prove criminal intent. Trump's team is going to push hard on the defense that he was pursuing what he believed to be a valid legal mechanism. The prosecution's team includes some of the best and most experienced prosecutor's in the country, but they do have their work cut out for them.

That said, I think you have to be pretty blind to not see what Trump was trying to do here. The question is whether they have the evidence to prove it beyond reasonable doubt.

Also, once again, if the GOP wins the presidency in 2024, these federal cases likely go away. I think it's still very possible that both cases get trials pushed to after the election.

Trump 's arraignment in the 1/6 case is scheduled for tomorrow and he will be in the courtroom live. He should be in an orange jumpsuit and handcoffs.
Furthermore because he is a billionaire with his own jet and properties around the world he should be considered a flight risk and held without bail until his trial. If he were anyone else in this situation this would be a no - brainer.

Getting back to Bubba's response Why shouldn't the orange loser be treated like any other indicted mob boss? He's no better than John Gotti or Al Capone.

Because he's not the same as Gotti or Capone. He's not running a criminal enterprise that engages in drugs, prostitution, violence, and murder. He's a white-collar criminal accused of white-collar crimes, and those folks are rarely held because they generally aren't considered flight risks.

He WAS running a criminal enterprise. Jury tampering, witness tampering, threatening prosecutors and judges and their families, using mercenaries to attack the capital are all the actions of a mob boss. He should never see the light of day again. At least Tony Soprano cared about his family.

Glad you're all enjoying the destruction of our judicial institutions and the erosion of our constitutional rights. Repent before it's to late.
