that would be a dramatic increase from last year. I think it was $11 or $12 in the K Lodge. Could be wrong. regardless it was approaching the cost of an actual 4 pack of Fiddlehead!

You can get a 30-Pack of the same beer down at the Walmart in Rutland for about $6 more than what they are charging for one tall boy.

I hope they sell lots of them. Would love to know what percentage of their overall profits are from alcohol sales.

People going to be BYOBing something serious . .

I see the day coming when they check your pockets for loose beers . . and pull your pass if you have one . .

Skiing with beers in your pocket is a rite of passage. Just don't fall on them! Nothing like skiing along wondering where the beer smell is coming from...

Since Vail's numbers are public:
FY 2022, in millions:

Lift revenue 1,310
Rental...........312
Ski School .....224
Dining aka F&B 164

That's right, Vail now takes in over a b...b....b... Billion dollars in lift revenue; Epic passes and day tickets. Pre tax income was $457 million, on total revenue of $2,525 million, which is 18%. That's pretty good... but keep in mind the ski business has dramatic fluctuations due to weather, economy, COVID, etc.

Or put it another way - when you tip the bartender 20% on that $16.75 beer, you're also tipping Vail 18%. (Powdr's numbers are not public)
Or... based on the annualized average, that $16.75 beer costs the mountain roughly $13.75 to slide it across the bar to you. Hard to believe compared to Walmart, but then again the skiing at Walmart sucks.

I think it's done intentionally to drive old time customers like me away. They want quick high profit turnover in the bars. I think this will increase business in the parking lots.

I'm out. I'd buy a beer or two at $11 but screw the $16. Access road bars will pick up some business if they are smart about it.

The prices are ridiculous, but at least they don't charge a cover; K1,Bear, and Snowshed often have live music. As long as the bars are crowded, POWDR has no incentive to cut prices.

Price for a Fiddlehead was $13 at the Peak Lodge Today. If you add a 25% tip ($3.25) then the price of a beer is $16.25. Life is not cheap.
