Re: Glove Recommendation
Still using my 20 year old Hestras, though I own newer pairs...
Re: Glove Recommendation
The black and white Hestras are about as warm as a witch's tit and look like crap in two years.
My Dakine gloves lasted 5 - 60 day years and only recently developed a hole. Best glove ever until I lost one last weekend

Re: Glove Recommendation
I think Hestra are extremely overrated for what they cost.
I have their Army Leather Heli Ski model and I don't find them particularly warm at all. I have a set of $40 Gordini that I bought at TJ Maxx as a backup glove and they're honestly warmer than the Hestras I spent North of $100 for.
Ultra cold days I use a Free the Powder lobster claw mit

Re: Glove Recommendation
I'll pack out any glove in 1-2 seasons, and split the seams in 4 seasons. Hestra, Black Diamond, Free The Powder are all good choices.
Re: Glove Recommendation
Kinco's with a layer or 2 of snoseal and for me atleast, a medium thickness glove liner, and I am good to go, and they last a good long time. You don't see a bunch of lifties, patrollers, instructors and various other on the hill employees wearing them because they don't cost tons of $$

Re: Glove Recommendation
Outdoor Research - Alti gloves or mittens are what many folks wear when they summit Everest. I rarely ever wear the liners, I just wear the outer shell on all days above 0, so they don’t get ‘packed out’.

Re: Glove Recommendation
They go in and out of stock depending on the time of year. Might need to have a shop special order them too, these are not commonly stocked.daytripper wrote: ↑Dec 1st, '23, 08:46None are available in the Amazon link you provided.GlenPLake wrote: ↑Dec 1st, '23, 08:28 Outdoor Research - Alti gloves or mittens are what many folks wear when they summit Everest.
