wednesday 12/13 report

Post by skiadikt »

another blustery grey sky affair with the sun poking her head out for the 1st run before pulling the covers. skis cleared as i was leaving. had to break out the micrometer for the new snow. another mid-week "saturday" because of the psia krewe. in addition to crowding the trails, they speed up the trashing process. 9-11:30 shift.

a good but not particularly inspiring ski day. usual highline opener which skied beautifully with that little topcoat. upper bunny skier's right excellent. MT/chute well enough. LEF also skied well early. supe was already hacked up before 10. didn't think preston's had been groomed. lark better. had to find the right line under the wet guns on lower bitter. turns out skier's left under the towers was best. old supe good w the usual caveat. bumps on mid o not bad but getting firmer by the day.

the NR runs were OK with dipper liftline still skiing great. ridge run & PL some good turns but getting rather thin. neither cascade or lower flush called. debut of the canyon chair. upper chute thin in spots w upper GB the winner over there. vagabond pretty beat particularly in the berms.

Late Afternoon Report: Nothing special and certainly no 'first chair perfect groomers" out there !

1:30 - 4:00 shift with a break for the cake. Happy 65th Birthday K.

ROTD: The free cake.

Disclaimer: Did not venture away from Snowdon.

Skiing ROTD: Probably Upper Bunny right [still very good most all of the way down] and first 1/2 of Mouse Trap right.

Highline just icy. Not enough cover on the right to enjoy it over there.

Poked into an Open Low Rider, butt didn't stay long. Patsies was much better. Agree with SA that Upper Chute -> Upper GB decent.

WTF is up with the App report re: Open/Closed Trails? Showing Upper Conclusion open yet all three ways you can get to those 15 or so turns were roped off. And, while I'm on this rant, why isn't Lower Conclusion Open? It's got way better cover than several of the other trails that are open.
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down
Don't you let that deal go down

Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!
