There is little they could do outside of nuking the trail with a groomer in the warm conditions. Everyone ignores the expert's only signs at the top, so any warnings in the parking lot probably would not help.

Everyone who slays the Gnar in the Poconos thinks they are an expert.

I didn't get over there today, but my wife said it was the same as yesterday.

That video does not do justice, became full brown later. We did skiers right and jumped the rock all day. Quite nice bumps on it and lower Cruise despite the crowds.

Out at 10:30. Rams had no line so went up that way to the very slow triple.

Lapped the C4 many times with LEF providing much entertainment.

Sup P.O.D. not as crowded. Not much snow except for the head wall guns.

Over at Bear the viper pit was the best entertainment of the day. Met up with Ron and crew at the bar.

Made many viper pit entries as the bumps on lower bear claw had the best lines.

Back over at needles the bump line in the dirt section was also nice.

Beer at the Jerk shack nice and in crowded. One more Sky with no snow on it and back to snow shed bar..

Not a bad day considering.

I'm a bit of a conditions snob after 39 years skiing Killington but I will drag myself out for practice skiing none the less.

My assumption on the Viper Pit versus Anti-Venom choice was that Killington knew they had one shot to get Bear open and felt the Viper Pit route was lower risk. They got it done, so give them credit for making a choice that worked. I don’t know their reasoning, but I think they were in a damned if they do/damned if they don’t situation. IMO they made the right call.

Yes likely a physical decision as the Claw to Lower Burst pipe goes via Viper Pit and not Anti-Venom. They had one shot with limited hours. Hopefully they get the temps to get some equipment on there tonight and tomorrow. Ugly...

33 degrees at Moose Manor. The cold isn't moving in at the rate forecast, and it's humid. Going to be a shorter window for decent snowmaking before opening bell, especially at Viper Pit and lower elevations.

I seem to remember other years they blew Viper Pit before Anti-Venom.

We were supposed to skin up PICO early, but his alarm never went off, so we decided to hit first chair. The snow was soft and the bumps came up. We jumped the rock on the right all day. Was quite entertaining between that and Cruise.

can't remember them ever making snow on anti-venom before vipers. that would probably have it's own issues including have all those folks make that turn down a narrower trail. just a different sh*t show. problem was they ran out of time.

Website says 19 now, let the guns roar. Mother Nature even kicked in some white stuff to make it look wintery again.

Afternoon Report: Worst conditions I have seen in a long time. Only skied a few runs at Snowdon and North Ridge; might have been a bit better other side?

LEF was horrible. Not very icy, but big piles of wet beach sand. Best skiing was upper North Ridge under the guns.

The wet beach sand was prevalent in other places as well.

Saw pix of Viper Pit later in the day and it was even worse.

Going to try Pico tomorrow [Sunday].
