It's been a Friday-Sunday lift like forever. It just ran daily last week due to the holiday period.

There was a heavy smell of burning rubber today. the lift was closed abruptly and early.

It had issues Friday and was shut down at one point. It was running again Saturday with frequent stops when we were on it. Seems like there's ongoing issues.

Rumor I heard, which I only put minimal credibility on, is that a lot of senior mechanics have left or retired, and so the mechanics who are trying to maintain these old lifts don't have as much experience as the old guard. Seems plausible but I don't know the facts.

Rode it numerous times yesterday, the last being around 2:15 PM. No stops or issues.

earlier than that a mechanic passed me on the flats to the bubble on a snowmobile with a sheave wheel. Could be related could not...

Sheave's get replaced all the time. Usually in the off season but sometimes during the season. If they had a flat spot it could have caused a tower trip which would account for stops.

I find its stops disconcerting. Very abrupt and it triggers an oscillation in the line that bounces the chair a lot. Pretty much every time.

Not sure if this is the same thing or not butt on two separate occasions over the weekend, while riding up the chair, it "stopped" abruptly [never quite actually stopped] and then did a couple of shimmy / shakes while going slow, and then built back up to speed.

Yeah, we smelled something like that [thought it was like locked up tractor trailer brakes, but I could see someone calling it burning rubber] at the top both time we rode it in the afternoon. It was still running ~ 3:00 or so.

I guess it was 9 days based on reports here...

Not like Sunday River. But always have your high angle rescue up to date. Carry gear to self evac if qualifed. MacGyver out.

It definitely does some hard breaking to slow speed and then speeds up, I think every time I rode it. It never stopped. Maybe a weird spot in the cable or something? Also, there’s a barrel 2/3 up in the woods off stitch line. I bet that was exciting when it fell.
