Killington Peak backcountry, Get at it!!

Post by St. Jerry »

Me and the kids found some sweet sweet pow off of East Glade. Just head to the cabin and keep going a little bit farther until you hit the sweet stuff!!

Did you get the town shuttle back to the resort?

I prefer to take the bubble and just go straight out after unloading . . Just head through the pee zone and keep on going . .

This thread, sarcastic as it may be, is sort of irresponsible. Lots of people read this forum who don't actively know how to "read the room"

Anyone that decides to leave the boundary without doing their due diligence deserves what they get. One of my most memorable runs was Big Jay with a knowledgeable and prepared group. A poor (and highly experienced) soul lost their life allegedly trying to beat their winter Pemi loop time last week. Two in his group supposedly turned around at some point. Let’s be thankful there were no severe injuries with the K debacle, and atleast the ski instructor had to face consequences.

I know from a youtube video that there is a way to ski down the backside of K from Coop's to Wheelerville Rd but I'd never consider trying it on my own. Maybe they should offer guided backcountry runs like Sugarbush does in Slidebrook.

Not sure what you're talking about. Killington offers some of the best and most accessible backcountry in the MidAtlantic and if one should loose their way, they can get a free ride back to the resort. GO get that pow pow!

Sign very dated, been there since the 1970s. The Truth is that with the global warmings and population growth, it will not be as cold nor as lonely as 200 years ago. D'uh!

According to police, it was several groups that met up once they were lost, then got rescued together.
