Shuttle Bus rant

Post by random1 »

So the last 3 days I've been to K, I've been a little too late for K1 lot, so over to Vale. Each time, morning and end of day, I've walked both ways and not been passed by the bus. It needs to be more frequent. I don't much mind the walk, but that's not the point. On Sunday, we waited 5 or 10 minutes (at 830 AM, so prime time), and the crowd was big enough that it was clear everyone wasn't going to fit on the next bus, so we hoofed it. So we're talking at least 15, maybe 20 minutes and no bus in sight. This is just unacceptable, really bad impression for non-regulars.

If it was one-off, fine, but this is clearly a pattern.

I'm suprised the shuttle even stops there since it's trailside.

We almost only park at Vale because it is easy ski in ski out to the truck. Why would anyone wait for a shuttle and not ski down to rams or across to snowshed? Did you need to pick up rentals?

Park at Vale

Put ski boots on

Shuttle to K1 or Superstar lift.

Skip the rams to bloodshed mess.

I used to do it on Saturdays mid morning shift when the kids wanted to sleep in.

Weekdays......why bother.

All my gear at Killington ski club, but thanks for the advice! Also, the lines at Rams Head on weekends stink anyway.

Vale is supposed to get regular shuttle service. Your complaint was reasonable.

Not that it means you should have expected reasonable responses. On the KZone response predictability scale, "stop complaining and just ski down to RH" would be pretty high.
2014 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift shouldn't be."
2019 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift (operating midweek) shouldn't be."
2023 - Killington announces that the South Ridge lift will run five days a week.
2024 - Killington lied.

Do they run shuttles down the access road on busy days like last Saturday?

Yes, they were. Not sure how frequent.
