Thursday 2/8/24 report

[Mister Moose]

Sunny, warm ( relatively ) temps upper 30s, great day. Odd grooming on Superstar, 6 stripes wide on lower, left big chunks and ridges. Lower was closed all day. South facing trails softened nicely, South Ridge ran and it was the place to be. Highline and Needles closed for racing, Swirl open and empty.

nice fotos moose. mtn has said grooming superstar is a "project" and could take a few days. the good news is since they're grooming it out, means they aren't done making snow on it.

pico race day. the usual fun day. pico's pretty much totally north facing so it doesn't get nowhere near as much sun as bear or any of the other south eastern faces at k consequently most of the nats never really softened. outpost runs like bronco & wrangler were fine in the sun but rather slick in the shade. same on upper KA. 49'er firm & fast but ok. all the lower mtn groomers skied great. late in the day kept lapping A & B slope. B slope in particular had spring conditions and was our rotd. they were pretty much our private ski area.

very top of superstar just before you get off the lift. you pass under it if you make a hard left getting off the lift.
