Difference is that Skyeship is the two lifts that can run as one or seperately. It's not as straight forward.

Replace the cabins. Rebuild the barn so it’s heated at night like K1 and there are less icing issues. Put some bike carriers on it and extend the bike park. Take over the world.

There are already multiple MTB trails that go through that area. You get to them via the K1 gondola and they drain onto the snowshed crossover.

Who cares about total vert. Whiteface already had that one locked up.

Either do that area right. Or get rid of it.

They just renovated the Rt 4 lodge and did major mudslide remediation, so the Skyeship isn't going away anytime soon.

How do you think the Town Selectboard and Planning Commission would feel about that? As a result of Nyberg's attempt, they revisited the permits and made KSRP refile for their PUD.
Can you elaborate? Is Killington/Powdr obligated to run a lift to Rt 4?

They closed the Northeast Passage?

Yes they are obligated for all the houses on GE. Just like they are obligated to get sunrise open.

There were zero ski on ski off houses below current base terminal for Sunrise Triple, no obligations unlike Route 4.

So there is a document that says because Killington sold the land they will provide a lift to the houses on GE, etc. down to Rt 4?

To be clear - I think the Rt 4 run is great - and if K made money on the real estate good for them.

But 10M to fix the Gondi - and the running cost of that lift seems very difficult to wrap an ROI around.

Yes, such a written agreement exists in some shape or form for GE and Sunrise. I forgot if it was deeded or a separate agreement.

The monetary ROI may not be apparent, but many folks have listed why the access point must remain and why it is important, even if not for people here. Killington continues to host the World Cup even though they lose money on the actual production due to the high cost of labor/snowmaking. There are other tangible benefits - same deal here with Route 4.

I am highly suspicious of the claim that they lose money on the WC each year. I think you've got some fuzzy math going on there. I wonder if they're counting the total cost of blowing snow on Superstar, but then not discounting for the fact that they get to offer that area to their customer base afterward. I also wonder if they are including food/beverage/lodging sales in that calculation, as those numbers must be astronomical for what would otherwise be a lean weekend.

agree the benefit or roi may not be as clear as the snowdon bubble or K1 retrofit but it is one of the 7 base lifts that need to run daily. in addition to the real estate it serves, more importantly is that point of entry. think "fixing" that lift and increasing it's reliability and performance is the most important lift improvement they can do. a ramshead bubble six is also a necessary upgrade but that's probably contingent on the village build. unless there's something they know (which could be the case), not sure i get the urgency in replacing superstar ahead of the skyeship and rams.
