LIFT DELAYS DUE TO A DISABLED SNOWCAT

Post by CelebritySkin »

Not there today, but someone asked me. Was it a winch cable getting caught on a lift?

Or just a winch cat that broke down with a good length of the wire out on a trail??

Last week there was a snow cat parked on the side of upper skyeburst and it was just roped off…no trails and lifts closed

There has to something more involved to shut down 3 lifts

We saw a disabled cat 1/8 the way up lower Slylark! Unfortunatrly, we did not see lift notifications, so our fun factor getting around suffered - we’ll get over it😂🤣😂

believe it happened as they were finishing up grooming operations. lower skyelark skied rather rough, like an unfinished groom.

probably started those lifts late because they didn't wannna take a chance on anyone skiing into the situation until they had all upper skye lark access points roped. saw it as i came across to skye lark from high road. a few hundred feet above that intersection parked in the middle of the trail. didn't get a good look but thought it was a winch cat.

boarded supe and skied supe before 10. rode the lift again and went to bear where everything was running. wasn't aware the lifts were delayed until later.

That cat was removed. It was just below the tunnel on the side with a fence around it. I wonder if it was the same cat? There was a new one at the at cat garage the other day.
