it was pretty deep when I was there last week. although a part of middle wasn't as deep as other parts. Headwall was so deep it wasn't as steep as it normally could be!

Hoses are still connected, seems like they plan to add depth.

They definitely don't want to be done, but mother nature may not give them another chance. It has to be in the teens this late to be worth it. If the weather pattern remains the same with no major snowmaking opportunities, May will be a stretch.

yeah the plan is to make snow whenever possible through the month. there was a krewe on it today tidying up the hoses. it does get cold thurs & fri nites but probably not enough cold to fire them for any extended run. more like stop the bleeding cold. a bit far out forecast wise but perhaps a more extended run is sunday nite into tuesday.

as for the trail, they've kinda spread the spine out, so the depth extends more across the trail. it's deeper than it looks from the chair but there are low sections. it is deceptive because last season, we weren't impressed by the depth and were predicting mother's day and we know how that turned out (june 1). with their new groomer technology, they can chart exactly how much snow they have.

at this point, june would take a miracle. as it stands now, thinking cinco de mayo is reasonably safe. maybe mom's day but we need a return to more normal temps. if we get a cold run and some snow maybe they can extend it. the spring skiing has been fun but we do ultimately pay the piper.

If March coming in like a lamb turns out to be all Saruman could conjure this month, I think June is back on the table, boys.

Some guns were on yesterday [Tuesday] afternoon. In addition, looked like guns on parts of Skyelark and Bittersweet !

when we arrived guns were on supe it looked like from the mid o exit up. other than the HW, they were turned off as it quickly got rather warm. were running the hogs though there were a number hkds staged. skye lark clearly had had some snomaking as the snow there was heavy & wet. they are now saying through the weekend which is a good thing. probably the last hurrah. who knows maybe we make june. won't be for a lack of trying. in the end mother nature's call.

in the continuing saga, the guns were on supe ttb other than the section on preston's from tower 4 up the mid o exit. running pretty much from the top of lark down to top of lower bitter. the accelerated learning area had a bunch. the usual on the lowest section of chute in addition to some spots on snowdon. 5 or so between the ski club and the K1 lodge. there may be a leak in that area as there's an area cordoned off where it looks like there's been some digging but not stopping the snowmaking. pretty much a full court press for this time of the year as they appear to be all-in on extending the season. the cold & snow this week's been a godsend and we might be getting another delivery of the good stuff fri>sat. enjoy!!!

Maybe they did the "K leak repair" ie dig down to the leak and cover it with evergreen boughs to keep it from bubbling up and then backfill lol.

Friday evening 4-26. I've been noticing the extra depth this year at tower 3. The ridge gets a little stronger as you go down from there. This may well change the melt out pattern this late May, when the big waterbar usually makes itself known and the traverse to the bump line left gets sketchy. Change in snowmaking pattern? Different grooming with the new snow depth readout? I'm hoping this makes for a noticeable change this season.

Mount Mike noticeably absent this year though.

Opening Bell SS Headwall groomed to perfection. One surprise Was around the narrow passage to get to the actual trail. At the end of it. There was a buildup of snow that literally made you fly up in the air and land on the trail for a minute then I was gonna go down, but luckily I landed fine and thoroughly enjoyed the head wall over to superstore and skylark great grooming by the Killington team. Thank you.

At tower 3 they blew to deal with the "S" that forms on Superstar in late April May. The extra snow will make for great longer lines. They have evolved.

We are getting some break through at the top of Prestons just above the exit from Ovation.
