Friday 4/5 report

Post by RustyK »

Another wow day starting at the bubble (k1 on hold ) with the 802.
GIS and Southside hit untracked west glade again. Nobody up there.
Same for escapade to cascade. No tracks except for ours. 2 days in a row.
Repeated on downdraft and dipper with boot deep blower pow until the k1 opened around 10:30.

Then everything was decimated in about 30 min. Off to the woods to find more untracked. Worked for about another half hour then the masses tracked it out.

Finally opened anarchy which was excellent. Skier girl laps in the PM with Powday on North ridge and old sup areas.

Another great day in April. Hope to see you at the BMMC.

Sad I missed it.

The best powder days are when K1 is closed.

Everybody forgets to go triple to glades ...

Dear Mother Nature:
Please have future winter days be 4 months of Friday conditions, and 4 months like Tuesday, it would make me very happy.
Thanks, Dezzy

I suspect I wouldn't even know how to ski in powder but I'm still jealous because that looks beautiful!

Afternoon Report: Yep, pretty beat up ! Not best viz either. Variety of conditions mostly "snowball" packed pow mid elevation, a bit better way up top, and some spring softened snow lower half of Bear. Small afternoon snow squall threw down another inch or so which was good in places.

LEF a mixed bag of snow bumps and cat tracks in the center. Better snow conditions left ridge.

Upper Dip decent but hard to see. Same for NR trails with very low viz nearing the bottom lift station.

Pipe Dream was a disappointment with very heavy beat up snow.

Bear -> Burst decent with a break of almost sun. Cruise Control decent.

ROTD: Not sure why, but Upper Bittersweet was really good with that norincher helping things out. Lower Bitter, or Low Road good options. Middle Skyelark OK.
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
