wednesday 4/10 report

Post by skiadikt »

was one of those "if you don't go, you don't know" days. so empty there weren't even any ghosts in town. guess lots of folks were scared by the forecast. other than a few drops, the dripping held off. and the sun even poked through for a spell early. very breezy but comfortable temps. 9-12:30 shift.

our bell run lately has been LEF. good and soft though the groom was a bit rough. that was the case on a number of runs early until they got skied in. snowdon main line similar but good. rime & cascade good.

catching supe after the delayed start, it was quite good. couple repeats. cruise was cream. might have been the best also earned some repeats. needles & lark good. really everything skied well.

dipped into some ungroomed (low road, old supe, ridge run and north star) and the sticky quotient was quite high with not really enough traffic to ski them in. decided discretion was the better part of valor w the trees. ran into rusty & skinut at the top of NR.

Similar to Skiadicts report. Out with 802 around 9:15.
Group of 12 for a little while.

LEF was nice and groomed like Sup.
Cascade and Highline rougher.

Woods were pretty sticky if it was not traveled.
Even some trail too. Thimble.

Nice to see SA with a ridge run lap.

Had to leave at 12:30. Still no r*in. Nice.

Bell-to-bell… groomers ski’d better than yesterday - less sticky all around …

Adding to others reports… Gateway to SS Crossover nicely groomed w/creamy GS turns… Middle Vertigo soft but heavy. High Road hero snow.

Light/moderate ra!ns showed up about 2:30ish but provided a little extra lubrication to the >slightly< sticky groomers. Fog & wind on the peak forced me down to the bubble for lap after lap on creamy untouched hero snow on Mouse Run… finished with similar laps on Swirl. Head said quit and go home, skis said “just one more…”.

Honorable mention goes to the noon lunch run down a groomed/untouched Yodeler -> Learn-to trail to the Ramshead tunnel.

I sure hope no one every figures out that the best snow conditions can be when the weather is foreboding…
