thursday 5/2 report

Post by skiadikt »

after a couple days out of town, the sun found her way home this morning. downright balmy at the bell. place was empty. so much so that at times had trails to myself.

at the bell supe was a creamy delight. within an hour, the bumps softened and were nicely skied in. if rotd has any meaning at this point, supe was it. beautiful. upper lark skied well. with the light turnout, didn't get that soupy. the cream held up on the lower skyehawk section. the breaks on lower lark are expanding. a rather long ribbon skiers left at the first dropoff. looks like they did some snow farming for the runout towards the bottom. nonetheless the widely spaced "bumps" are fun. upper bitter well toasted at this point. a number of ribbons. lower the usual brown snow at the final steep. mid o still skiing well but more ski arounds. the walkout now pretty substantial.

by about 12:30 clouds rolled in prompting my exit. overall an excellent morning.

Afternoon Report: Pretty much as SA posted though the groomed areas were sloppy later in the day. Good bit of sun until last two runs when dark clouds came in. Old Sol came back out for shits and giggles just after the closing bell.

ROTD: Supe TTB. Just plain good.

Enjoyed Upper Bittersweet. Not groomed for the most part and dirty corn soft bumps were nice in between the narrow ribbon sections. Lower Bitter was poor and runout back to Supe chair on life support.

Skyelark OK with a bunch of hacked up snow on Upper and pretty decent on the Lower pitch. Liked skiers right at the first break vs skiers left.

Middle O OK and worth a shot for variety if nothing else. Decent cover and still about a third of the crossover back to Supe still with snow on it. Very wet right under the chair though.
