That's a great book. I hope you read the ones prior to that one as well since Ryan is a continuing character and it would be a shame to read it out of turn. I've read almost everything that Clancy has put out (with the exception of his books on submarines and tanks).XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Tom Clancy's Sum of All Fears

What's the book after Executive Orders (or was that Executive Decision)?tyrolean_skier wrote:That's a great book. That's the last Clancy book I read and I'd like to get the next in the "Ryan Series" if there is one.

Kahuna, I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance a couple of years ago, great read, the only thing I didn't like was explaining to so many people that it's not really a book about how to literally fix motorcycles.
Currently reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time which is a book written from the point of view of an autistic kid. My sister works at a group home for autistic men and I've had the chance to befriend many of them over the years. Pretty fascinating the way their minds work.....
I've read too many over the last few months.....but mostly have been reading a lot of Krakauer books. Good stuff. Those Tom Clancy type books just don't do it for me.........

I just looked at my stack of read books and it might be "Rainbow Six" because the next one in the pile is "The Bear and the Dragon". Rainbow Six does not have Jack Ryan as the main character - it is about John Clark - the Navy Seal guy. In between those there are a lot Tom Clancy's Net Force and Op-Center and Power Plays books that I have read. The next Clancy book I have to read is "Red Rabbit" but apparently that one takes place before "The Hunt for Red October". Clancy is starting a new series of books with Jack Ryan Jr. as the protagonist. The first one is "The Teeth of the Tiger"BigKahuna13 wrote:What's the book after Executive Orders (or was that Executive Decision)?tyrolean_skier wrote:That's a great book. He's not kidding. A dimbulb, luddite at work, who also happens to be a friend, saw the book on my desk and said "Gimme a effin' break. Zen can't help you fix motorcycles better". Tossed his ass right out :)snowsprite wrote:LOL...Good one RJS!RJSVermont wrote:the only thing I didn't like was explaining to so many people that it's not really a book about how to literally fix motorcycles.

You will like Ironweed. It's a trilogy. There's also LEGS and BILLY PHELAN'S GREATEST GAME. They all take place in Albany, NY. I walk the streets mentioned in those books everyday. It's pretty cool. Kennedy is a very good writer. He submitted Ironweed to 13 publishers before he was able to get one to publish it.Snowjob wrote:I'm almost done now with Sophie's Choice and today I picked up "The Shipping News" by E.
