Re: Don't Mass VT
It is unfortunate that people who have never met other people put down where they live (even though I can guarantee they have never spent more than an hour there.) I have lived all over the Northeast including 4 neighborhoods in Boston itself for almost 10 years, I don't go around passing judgement....

Re: Don't Mass VT
Jeez Geoff, you also one of those high almighties? Do you live in one of the W's? (Weston, Wellesley, Winchester, etc) where you can afford to make statement like that about where people live? What are you even comparing in the list of those towns? Crime Rates? Property Taxes? School Systems? Overal...

Re: Don't Mass VT
..and Billerica, yeah, that's real nice too ... There is actually nothing wrong with Billerica. It's one of the last affordable towns inside 495. It has good highway access, a decent school system, good restaurants, close to NH and the Burlington malls, a low crime rate, multiple commuter ...

Re: Don't Mass VT
Massholia has some Jersey-like ugly. Route 1 / 1A north of Boston (Saugus, Revere, etc) is just as awful as anything around Newark. Vermont also has their little pockets of awful. South Burlington springs to mind as uncontrolled sprawl with mall hell and divided highway with traffic lights. I used ...

Re: Mount Snow Question
Stratton's summit is only 200 feet higher than Mount Snow, it makes a difference, but still they do not get anywhere close to the annual snowfall as Killington (180 vs 250 inches). Actually, stratton's peak is 400ft higher, they have 300ft more vert, and is further north. I've skied both areas exte...

Re: Mount Snow Question
Agree 100% with what Jeff said. They now have serious uphill capacity out of the main base so it isn't as much of an issue as years prior. North Face is never a line, neither is Sunbrook. Avoid Nitro Express (HSQ) at Carinthia and the 6 Pack at all costs, they are mob scenes. Saturday is very busy, ...

Re: Snowmaking in progress
I am willing to give these asshats one more chance next season. I will buy a pass for next season. But if I feel the trend is contnuing I may very well consider a pass at MtSnow for the following season. Its a bit less of a drive so Ill save some money on gas. I willnever buy a pass for stratton as...

Re: Snowmaking in progress
Do you think that Magic is an alternative to K? Lack of snowmaking kills them in a bad snow year. But Mt. Snow, Stratton and Gore/Whiteface are all good options. No, but you could cherry pick the good days there and ski the rest of the time at one of the southern Vermont snowmaking mountains. With ...

Re: 8am opening instead of 8:30am on weekends
Look how narrow that line is though, that's not that bad all things considering. Not many reasons to take the Super Bravo at LP anyway. Can get most of the terrain off of valley house, then you have Heaven's Gate, Castlerock, Lynx, up high.

Re: 8am opening instead of 8:30am on weekends
I think this mountain has shown it does not give a sh!t about the pass holders (or on mountain property holders) ever since Powdr took over. I know a lot of you have real estate at the mountain, but if you didn't, I would be looking to buy elsewhere. I won't drive all the way up there anymore when i...

Re: OT: Restaurants around Woburn, MA
I live about 2 miles from Lester's (it's right on the way home), I eat there too much, lol. I forgot which night it is, but they have a fairly cheap all you can eat ribs and wings night. Any given meal can be a hit or miss at any of Boston's bbq joints, but given multiple visits to each, I would say...

In my opinion, the majority are over priced and fair. I would expect better from "the downtown of Route 128".

Re: OT: Restaurants around Woburn, MA
I will second Sichuan Gourmet as being pretty damn good. Pongal in Billerica is pretty much the best Indian around in Metro Boston too. I didn't see the Seadog (the brewery) Restaurant in Woburn mentioned? It's not far from the 93 Marriot (it's actually next to another Marriott off of 128/I95). Has...

Lester's is pretty good. I would say Red Bones in the 'Ville is better but its not bad. Never been to the Ribbon, but I've heard its good!KBL Ed wrote:Never heard of Lester's either. How's it compare to my beloved Blue Ribbon?

Re: OT: Restaurants around Woburn, MA
You're not far from Billerica. Sichuan Gourmet is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Boston area (assuming you order Sichuan items, and not General Gau, etc.) On par with the better places in Flushing. Trumps anything in Manhattan. If you have a car, I'd recommend driving a little closer to...
