Re: sunday
Here at SR it was also r*ining. So, we all slept in late after celebrating Peter's big 50 birthay, relaxed, and then drove home. Hopefully, there will still be snow left.

Re: Killington vs. Sunday River
I know this may be a sore subject, but now SR now has a longer season. Last year, SR was open through the last weekend in April, and then if we wanted more, we could go to the 'Loaf.

Re: Killington vs. Sunday River
killington doesnt have a chondola.........advantage...........SR
I wouldn't call it an advantage for SR. With only 1 in 5 chairs being a gondola, we rarely sit in the box, and the gondola cars make it susceptible to wind holds. It is nice that their is a high speed ...

Re: Killington vs. Sunday River
I am a recent transplant from K to SR. We made the switch because SR seems to have a better gradation of trails for developing skiers, and they are willing to teach kids below the age of 6. There also seems to be a better progression of trails from novice to expert. Also, SR is not an intermediate m...

Re: Why skiers don't like snowboarders and attorneys
Hi everyone! This is the 5yr. olds mom posting...... To clarify the first posting where the person hit our son and claimed he was not being supervised is only his opinion. Peter was skiing behind our daughter and I was three turns away from our son. When I got to our son and had my skis off, the you...

Re: Why skiers don't like snowboarders and attorneys
We just sent him the legal notice that we will be filing in Small Claims court. We can't file until he responds. If he doesn't respond, it costs him more. I looked up the attorney's bio. He graduated from Denver U. in 1987. I agree, he certainly should know better. If anyone makes it over to SR, get...

Re: Why skiers don't like snowboarders and attorneys
Hi Dr. No - First of all, the attorney is not his dad. Secondly, the skis were only $170. They have integrated bindings. Not only does the "Skier Code" say that he is responsible, so does Maine state law. His argument seems to be based on the fact that we were negligent by having a 5 y.o o...

Why skiers don't like snowboarders and attorneys
This winter our 5 y.o. son was hit by a college-aged snowboarder while night skiing at SR, severely damaging his skis. Thankfully, he is alright, but he now prefers to ski in woods, because it is safer. We asked the culprit to reimburse us for replacing his skis. Quotes from his attorney's response ...

Re: NO FAMILY FRIENDLY KIDS PROGRAMS HERE
That is why we left K last year. It is $900/year/child for our 5 y.o. twins at SR for Sat/Sun/and holiday weeks. The coaches take them all over the mountain, and don't keep the kids cooped up at Ramshead like K. We miss our friends, but K doesn't want us.

Re: Cortina Inn info?
This article was not surprising. For the Cortina Inn this is now the 3rd or 4th time the bacteria has been found and the place closed. I think that the first outbreak was during the late 70's or early 80's. It is believed that it was in the water source and not from poor management or unsanitary con...

Re: What fun things did you do this past weekend?
Saturday was horrible weather so we went to the Grand Re-opening of the local Y (it's where we swim masters out of). Everyone got to swim and have some fun. Then it was off to the Museum of Science in Boston and a yummy (Blah) meal at McD's on the way home. Sunday, which was beautiful, was spent goi...
