Re: Mountain Green Sales?

when did the assessment commence collecting $ from owners? when is it scheduled to end? (10 years from commencement?) what other items would you, or the board anticipate coming up in the next 10 years? seems to be a fair # of units on the market right now (25) - any idea how many total units in the...

Re: SkyeShip Gondala > Number of busted chairs..

I finally got caught up in the Skyship debacle 2 Saturdays ago when we had that big snowstorm. I took a late day run down GE to check it out down there and get some water in the lodge. Took about a 15-20 minute break then hopped back on the Skyship. Starting at about halfway up to Needle eye base, i...

Modern lifts technology today is amazing, especially compared to the primitive lifts of 50 years ago back in the 70's.

Fascinating article about one of the worst lift accidents in American history

I'm sure many of you, like me, remember when this happened. I remember riding that same gondola about 5 years later and being blown away by how high it was, 230' in places according to this article. It was 48 years ago next week, on March 26, 1976. Two gondola cabins at Vail holding 6 people each fe...

Very sad, it sounds like she was a very cool lady. Way too young, life truly is short, even if you live to be old.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward

My hunch would be they are planning to work around the current act 250 laws, and not reapply if they can help it. Some big changes to act 250 are being discussed. https://www.vlct.org/news/testimony-regarding-changes-act-250-and-planned-growth-area-designation - allowing municipalities with duly ad...

Re: Epic Pass Prices for 24/25 Out

Arguably they didn’t raise the pass prices enough. They have to do something to cut down on the crowds. They really don't have a crowding issue outside of a few days a year - massive powder days or holiday weekend Saturdays. We had the Epic Pass 3 years ago and Okemo was a complete and total zoo on...

Re: Town Meeting Day and Tax increases

It's not apples to apples, almost every tax deduction has been eliminated for individuals since rates were that high and many states didn't start charging income taxes until 60s or 70s. The government is collecting record levels of taxes of all kinds and spending even more! The wealthiest area of o...

Re: Historical trail closure patterns

Winter in central VT is now pretty much like what winter used to be like in north central NJ where I grew up back in the 60’s and 70s. Winter in NJ is now basically non-existent, a short-lived cold snap here and there and a couple of small nuisance snowstorms if that. Significant rainstorms in VT i...
