Re: Hannah Soar - Hometown Hero

When I do moguls, I feel like I have to go sideways on each bump to control the speed, she's just practically going in a straight line, amazing. I can study her form and sort of understand the technique, but if I tried to copy it, I would be airborne after the 3rd mogul. Very impressive!

Re: Preston's pitch?

Cool videos, thanks, hard to tell how they regraded it, they made it steeper or less steep? Why am I not recognizing the old K1 lodge, looks different? Or my memory is worse than I thought, gotta lay off that whacky weed...

Re: Preston's pitch?

So it's where you watch all the beginners wiping out on an icy day trying to survive sliding down on their asses. Is that section to the skiers left part of P.P, the part that's usually roped off, where I cut under the ropes to try and get some speed to the K1?

Re: Preston's pitch?

Thanks Skiadikt, I think I understand that description. So if I understand, it's where middle ovation ends right before lower ovation where you ski out to the right to get to S.S. From there to the bottom is P.P. I always thought it was the section to skiers left towards the bottom that's usually ro...

Preston's pitch?

Does anyone have a picture of where exactly Prestons pitch is? I think/know it's on or near S.S but don't know exactly where.

Re: tuesday 4/23 report

I think they could spare a couple guns over the 4,000 hours they make snow on SS throughout the season to get the Ovation to SS cutover deeper for spring. Every year it's the same situation and every year it's not addressed. I say this every year, I know zero about running a mountain or driving a c...

Re: monday 4/15 report

Why did/would they groom middle ovation, is there a reason why they would flatten out the bumps there?

Re: Sticky snow

I did read that stone grinds help, I get one after every season, but maybe next time I'll ask for a deeper or more aggressive structure. But I'm thinking I might have missed an important step, I didn't brush the wax out of the structure after waxing, could this be the mistake I made? I might have to...

Sticky snow

Last 3 days skiing, Monday - Wednesday, I experienced that herky jerky type snow that sticks to the bottoms of your skis and really slows you down. If the snow was in the shade it was better. Thought I was prepared, hot waxed using some Swix yellow spring wax, but didn't really work, Any tried and p...

I was there Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, the place really was empty, I agree, they probably lose money.

Re: 105" in the last 26 days

f*** it, I'm hiding out in the woods, lighting up and putting on dark side of the moon and skiing down in the dark in a full eclipse. That's the plan and I'm sticking with it!

Re: 105" in the last 26 days

Should say "Powdy Beast Fans"! I'm likely coming up Sunday for my last hurrah for 3 days, think i'll still reap the rewards of some of this last dump? Sucks that Monday they'll close the lifts at 2 but hoping to be up top and ski down when the eclipse starts, should be pretty trippy!

Re: mike on the snowmaking plan

Most here would agree that SS replacement is not the most pressing need for Killington right now. However, I’m sure it is high on the list for those whom the World Cup is paramount. I’d love to believe that it is being deferred in favor of more critical infrastructure issues, but that would go agai...

What was the place on Killington road sort of across from the basin that used to have the oranges slide down a ramp from high up? I used to love having breakfast there.
