Re: What time do lifts open tomorrow?
Of coure that means it's 1 hour more to ski. Love it and that's one thing I love about spring skiing at places that offer night skiing like Wachusett - nice to be able to go out 11 am til 5 pm or so during warmer spring skiing.

Re: Star Wars VIII: The Epic Fail
While I thought Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a decent movie, I just watched The Greatest Showman which is an epic movie... easily the best musical I've watched.

Re: Killington mismanagement
I think staffing can be controlled. The mountain has to be rolling it in at a $105 rate, and there is no reason that should prevent them from raising wages to cover additional costs from increasing the wages. Therefore, by sheer force, the mountain will get more people that will want to work for them.

Re: Saturday people ticker
Seems like K should cut back on the discounting. No need to have CT ski council discounts if the mountain is getting that crowded. Why would they offer any discounts on a Saturday? Sunday discounts make much more sense. That discount is the reason why I and thousands of other CSC members were skiin...

Re: Limit Ticket Sales?
Canyon, North Ridge, and the Poma were ski-on Saturday. Quit your bitchin and ski. I was at Stowe and Sensation quad over at upper spruce was still ski-on. Word was lines got to be 15-20 minutes on the four runner; I bailed for Spruce when it got to 10. Was still about a 20 chair wait at lower spru...

Re: Non-skiers at Peak Lodge
Here's how to resolve it: bring a nice big turkey sandwich for lunch from home and put it in your pocket. When it comes time for lunch, ski down to skyeship base and you have 12 minutes to "leisurely" eat your lunch in the gondi car. Have it with a bottled water and a larabar, and you have...

Re: Stowe upgrades
Re: the distance from Boston. Stowe ends up being about 45 minutes longer of a ride than K from Boston. Not too bad, but only doable as a daytrip when you take the bus as K is enough of a stretch for a daytrip by car as it is. Of course, they cater to a high end demographic as the bus or a ski club ...

Re: Lift Tickets - Loon Mountain
Lift tix discounts are far and few between at Loon, mainly because of its popularity. Especially with the gondola only holding 4 people per cabin, lines can easily exceed 15 minutes for the gondola on a weekend, but North Peak and South Peak is a bit better in terms of waiting time. They've ran $29 ...

Re: New Peak Lodge plan revealed....
I think Mike is just managing smart. With the volume of people, even a 2 story facility would only have a chance of getting full on midwinter weekends. Bathrooms should be by the door so those just needing to stop for a bathroom break can get back skiing fast. After all, k-1 is the only lift that al...

Re: Free skiing at the 'Bush this weekend
Guy at the ski club meeting last night told me that the lift line at the Bush was 45 minutes long due to the free ticket. He bailed after lunch. Just goes to show you there's a heck of a lot of people that like to ski but are priced out of the sport still due to the economy. Waterville ran some gre...

Good to see they handled it well. Though, these incidents tend to be in older lifts. Replace the Snowdon and Glades triples before a Spillway incident happens.

Re: Killington 2013-2014 Season Pass Pricing
Access Road is going to love the Millennial Pass; it should bring back the 20 something crowd! Why would they ski anywhere else? Well, Sugarbush and Stratton are both $300. For ticket deals I get, I'd need to get up 20 days to the Beast to make it worth it if I'd pay $600; a bit tough to do but I g...

Re: Pass/ticket scanning
At Stowe, they scan tickets through the gates at the upper Spruce quad. And yes, even though it is quite desolate, they set up lift queues that you have to go around every darn time you board the lift. It's almost like they set things up like they expect they'll do 10x their regular volume.
