Re: Best boot shop?
Do you care about grip walk vs older skis? I didn't even know this was a thing. Seems niche. Anybody have experience with this? Yes - For those of us that have that have a ski quiver that covers the last decade. Half my skis have GTW Bindings and the other half do not. My solution is to have the sk...

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season
Include early season stair sherpas with all pass products. Tipping is optional. Carry two pairs of skis down to the snow on Superstar Headwall in June then carry two pairs up and down Heavenly Reverse in the Fall. Could try to help you out but juggling three pair gets tough with two way traffic on ...

Re: Killington Sold
id rather it be state owned like belleayre, gore and whiteface are state owned by NY, but ill take what i can get. i prefer smaller owners and local control over a big publicly traded conglomerate. just because i exist under capitalism doesnt mean i support capitalism. Vermont does own Killington a...

Re: Is Killington for sale?
One troll with 500 posts says Killington is being sold and the site collectively loses its mind. Sounds about right. We are entering that time of year. 180 is more of a bumper as he is one of the two skiers pictured behind Hannah Soar on the access road lamppost banners. He also is tuned into all t...

Re: vail resorts struggling as lift ticket sales dive
I grew up skiing at Vernon Valley/Great Gorge (Mountain Creek now) too and remember when lift tickets were $14. That won't buy you a bud light now at the K1 Lodge or any other major ski resort. Not quite true everywhere. Took this photo at the Winter Park lodge at the top of the gondola. Coors ligh...

Re: saturday june 1 closing day report
We show up before the lifts start everyday. Word on the access road Saturday was that there was a line of skis building. Being at the mountain early and paying attention helps in correct decision making. This was the only day out 154 days that I skied this year that I put my skis in the line. The pr...

Re: State of Superstar May 11, 2024
Interesting so what was it 1997 that was super deep into June? Yes. June 22 1997. First full day of summer, which is the latest they have ever spun a lift for skiing/riding. And yes, there's plenty of people who have claimed they skied here in July and August, but that simply never happened. Just n...

Sweet deep r*in soaked corn surface. Less than 50 vehicles as the photo shows at 11am this morning. Sweet not having to share Superstar with anyone else. Wife hit 100 Killington days today

Re: Killington Road Detour: 4/15 - 7/8
With that said, be careful on the way down the mountain. After you take the right hand 'bend' onto West Hill Road, watch out for herbs coming in at you from the light. Already happened to me once. I'll be one of those herbs coming in from the right avoiding the new moguls that they installed on the...

Re: Spring Shrinkage Schedule ?
The runout has plenty of snow, so you'd still be able to ski the trails, but I agree it is way better with the chair running. The Canyon trails are one and dones for me if the chair isn't running. I don't mind riding the K1, but I also strongly dislike lapping it, if that makes any sense. You have ...
