Re: How bad were the lift lines today 2/17 ?
Not bad at all. Seemed like the crowds never showed up. Hit most key lifts, and probably longest wait 5-10 min. Bigger crowds last weekend for sure. And conditions were very good.

Re: Westchester - Stowe Air Service
Tetaboro would be better as it's much closer. White Plains can take an hour from nyc on a Friday afternoon. Stow also has issues with weather and short runway.

Re: Westchester - Stowe Air Service
Not possible for a weekend to Whistler. But, salt lake is a viable alternative at that price. Imo, Stowe isn't worth that travel cost, but people from NYC will pay it.

Re: Good news. New Lifts. Gondi Upgrade.
Few minor glitches with rfid yesterday but overall worked well for daughter and myself. I've skied Aspen/snowmass for years and seen same glitches with far less crowds, so hats off to killington. Saw Mike S at SS lift yesterday doing his thing to make sure things running smoothly. That is where he s...

Re: Lifts Delayed Friday Dec 28
I heard 11am opening now on Ktv. Conditions page is a joke. Apparently mix of trails icing up after grooming, ice on lift cables, and wind up top. Sounds enticing...

Re: Vail Resorts
Vail is a Ponzi scheme. The only way they have been able to get the stock price up is by purchasing more resorts and taking on debt. It's textbook. The guy is a finance guy and he knows the only way he can get rich is to this type of model. This is a one trick pony. They don't own any of the real es...

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
Uhh, maybe you should follow village progress before commenting. The final lawsuit was settled and permits are in process. Jay Peak, Stowe, Mt Snow, etc have all done major construction project as of recent in VT. It may not be easy, but is by no means impossible. There is a huge market for higher e...

Re: Vail buys Stowe
Agreed on the Beavercreek reference in regards to no crowds. Unfortunately, the terrain there is much more focused on intermediate and less steeps. And to my main point, there is not a "Beavercreek" alternative to Stowe to avoid the masses. Fortunately, Kton has Pico. Vail's entire model i...

Re: Vail buys Stowe
While I agree the Epic pass could be good deal for a lot of people, be careful what you wish for. Stowe already has crowding problems as evidenced MLK weekend when it took friends an hour to get to Stowe lifts from the town of Stowe, and this was at 7am!. Then, going home at 5pm back to town of Stow...

Re: Killington mismanagement
Don't want to back Kton too bad, as today was a great ski day and the lines were minimal. But, I also want to see them maximize revenue when they have the opportunity, and I saw several missed ops today. The line at the KBL ticket office was almost to the tunnel under the building at the crack of 10...

Re: Snowmaking/Operating Strategy Outlook - Ongoing Thread
Loon has more open than Killington? Really?? Flat out wrong. Sorry, not sure where you are getting your info, but that is incorrect. Can't comment on SR, cause don't know. As for the Loaf, it better, given how much further up north it is. It has had nothing to do with capacity and all to do with tem...

Re: Dec 28- Dec 29 Storm
I wouldn't hold your breath for all snow up top. According to forecast I saw, the upper atmosphere is bringing in warm air and will change over to ice and even r*in for the upper elevations as well. Even predicting this for Jay Peak. I hope I'm wrong, but not looking good. It is slated to change bac...

Looks more like mid 80's than 1991. Entertaining nonetheless.
