Re: saturday june 1 closing day report
Wouldn't you just "skip" over equipment (without owner) if you were behind it in line? Once the line is moving, sure. This is happening before the lifts open. Lucky for me I'm never there before 10:30. most folks get to their equipment 30-45 min before the lifts starts loading. guess you ...

Re: saturday june 1 closing day report
And the “leaving skis in line” thing seems pretty lame. it became the new normal this may. people are getting there as much as 3+ hours before lift opening, so they leave their skis in line "reserving" their spot and then go back to their cars have breakfast, hang w friends, boot up whate...

Re: saturday june 1 closing day report
yeah was with liv4 when his friend told us about the ikon pass problem. not sure whether the issue was on k's side or ikon's side. my beast 365 pass automatically renewed on june 1 so there could have been some sort of reset involved. perhaps june 1 was a magical date for ikon as well. if there was ...

Re: june 1 yes we have a winner!!
those bumps where that patroller is were particularly gnarly all day. not at all soft w the backside totally sawed off. last run, hit it hard and landed awkwardly twisting my lower calf. took a couple seconds to take inventory and make sure i wasn't hurt. the one thing you don't wanna do is get inur...

was dropping my skis. walk took between 8-10 min.Captain Hafski wrote: ↑Jun 2nd, '24, 07:41 The Nivis route takes <10 minutes. Heard someone say they timed it at 7 minutes.
Dropping off the skis at the LP crossover makes it even easier.

Re: saturday june 1 closing day report
"heard" whether factual or not, that they made a thousand t-shirts. bucket mentioned he got one after 10 am so no excuse ... as to leaving skis to save a spot in line, that does seem to be a newer development this late season as folks arrive earlier and earlier - some as early as 5 am. yes...

saturday june 1 closing day report
wow what a closing day!!! mama nature pulled out all the stops and the mtn pulled off a miracle cobbling together a continuous run on superstar where many of of us thought it couldn't be done. think there was one cloudy wisp that passed us by and we were graced with blue skies and temps cracking 70 ...

Re: Nivis vs Headwall?
i did the nivis walk my last couple runs end of day sunday. certainly a lot less stressful than slippin and slidin on the rocks. saturday will be a much longer walk before you hit the snow so definitely doing nivis. and yeah the headwall climbers were only beating me by a few minutes.

Re: june 1 yes we have a winner!!
Good for them. That is impressive, but like Kenny says, you got to know when to fold them. After 111 day season, I'm not walking 200' vert down the steep and slippery headwall to the snow level. Ending it on a nice weather Sunday with friends few days ago and only 15 sidesteps to get to snow is how...

june 1 yes we have a winner!!
Don’t let the web cams fool you! Our grooming team has done some late season calculations and assures us there is enough snow remaining that with a little farming, they’ll be able to piece together one final day of skiing and riding for the 2023/24 season on June 1st. The plan is to connect the Supe...

Re: Urea - We have a winner
seeing their facebook video makes me less optimistic. that first break after the section below launchpad is quite significant - almost 2 lift towers of terrain. not sure where they get that snow from. the next is short and possibly can be "bridged". then there's section by the mid-o exit, ...

monday memorial day 5/27 report
first wanna remember those made the ultimate sacrifice this memorial day. thank you ... if today was the fat lady's final song, certainly went out on a low note. very unpretty out there today. the mtn was hidden by a heavy veil of fog most of the day with some dripping later. once again the groomers...

Re: Urea - We have a winner
no matter when we ultimately close, the mtn has done an amazing job nurturing supe through the spring. overall snow depth "seemed" lower than last season, yet somehow it's memorial day and we're skiing a continuous trail every morning that other than the HW makes it through every day. they...
