Re: Timing of Killington Forward
That's a conceptual drawing from 20 years ago, and it's not necessarily representative of what's being built now. As for being able to ski back to the car, on the days I ski at Stratton, I park at the Sun Bowl and do just that. It's actually closer to the snow surface than many of Killington's lots.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
The access road isn't going anywhere, at least up by Superstar.

Which they'll still have in the K1, Vale, Bear, and Skyeship lots, as well as the closer spots to the village.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
They're also at a competitive disadvantage due to the lack of modern amenities, which is what the village is supposed to solve.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
The parking and shuttle situation isn't going to be any different than most of Killington's competitors. Mount Snow, Stratton, and Okemo require a shuttle from most of their lots, especially if you don't arrive early.

Re: Superstar chair
They really need to have the lift operational by around November 1st, when snowmaking really gets underway. That gives 5 months. It's still cutting it close even if they aren't required to stop during the May 15th to August 1st window. They got a waiver for North Ridge, but that was still a 6 month ...

Re: Superstar chair
As for the alignment, I see no need to change it, other than moving the top terminal higher, and moving it back a little to make the unload bigger. They shouldn't be cutting more trees if they are required to give back acreage to do it. They had no choice with South Ridge, but it isn't necessary for...

Re: Superstar chair
Who knows if they'll even do the replacement in 2025. It's not like their track record is any good. At the earliest, the lift will be 38 years old when it is retired. This is uncharted territory for detachables, and they are seriously playing with fire attempting to push it as far as they already ha...

Re: Superstar chair
Today, as well as last weekend, there were frequent break downs where the lift would stop, and it would take like 3 attempts to restart it. Why this wasn't fixed, I don't know, but it is disappointing. What's even more disappointing is Powdr/Killington's reluctance to replace it. They are on borrowe...

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
You know that's the old plan that they aren't building, right? Village layout is completely different in the new renderings.

Re: tuesday 4/30 report
Think there's any chance of them pushing snow onto the cut back to Superstar from Middle O? For Skye Hawk, I was cutting through the woods on Sunday.

Re: Superstar chair
They haven't filed for permits yet, so I find it hard to believe that anything was ever planned for 2024. I'm sure they are taking bids from both companies, but I would still lean towards it being LP, unless they really want Doppelmayr's D-Line system, which LP has no answer to.

Re: Superstar chair
That's also an option, especially since Skyeship has a shorter season. It isn't cheap either, but may be less expensive than completely new cabins. Stowe went that route with their cabins. The drawback is that it means they still have two different types of cabins. Also, the door mechanisms on the K...
