Re: sunday 4/16 report

Cannon closed for lift served Sunday. As I was in some favorite woods (which had 90% awesome coverage, 8% sketchy, & 2% take your skis off to walk down on dangerous stuff) all I could think of was if Tyrolean Skier had been there, she would have reported it was fun and worth sampling it! If I do...

Re: Skyeship Refurbishment Is Badly Needed

-Ditch the Fast Tracks program I’m happy to welcome someone who skis 10 to 1 at only a few lifts and drops a bundle at the bar. Beats having someone who skis bell to bell in the places I’m interested in skiing. I’ll make that trade everyday and twice on Saturday. True! I hadn't thought of it that w...

Re: Thursday

I have been meaning to mention last Thursday. It truly was unique. It exemplified how sometimes you just don't know what awaits you up there on a given day. You are so right. I on the other hand was one of the people who woke up to loud wind, shut off the alarm and went back to sleep, even though m...

Re: The snow report is useless

I appreciate that K fixed the Bear cam and has it focused on the bump course, have fun and good luck if you're there, too bad about the weather. Do it up one time!

Re: Old Fiddle Cliff

I can't say, not the kind of thing I note, but I'm certain it was idle (without me knowing it wasn't ever going to run again) for long enough that the brush had grown in (from previous post here from Sgt EddyB: "When the DFQ was abandoned the brush filled in and dropping that piece was no longe...

Re: Old Fiddle Cliff

The lift last ran in 2005 as best I can tell. I do remember riding it not knowing it was to be the last operating day. I like when a thread leads me to look back in my notes, same, was there on the 22nd and now remember the stopping and starting on the lift after reading that attached report. But I...

Re: Saturday delay, 3/18

I must be nuts - I stuck it out for nearly 25K feet. Toured the mountain looking for the best of the worst and then would lap those runs until I would search out for something else. Best snow was cruise control, followed by upper bunny buster, bittersweet, great northern, and middle header. There w...

Re: Saturday delay, 3/18

What a spectacular stretch we've had since the end of February though, lifts shutting down one-by-one from winds and rainish weather yesterday afternoon at Jay made me gloomy assuming it was coming to an end (for now/short term only hopefully).

Re: monday 3/13 report

overall decent but a letdown after all the great skiing of the past 2 weeks. tomorrow's another day ... One of the few times my Cannon experience was different than your K experience...my great stretch continued yesterday, I was solo for the first time in a while, so skied a lot of the tight/steep/...

Re: saturday 3/11 report

Yikes, bad parking even spread to Cannon on Friday, didn't see anyone towed but someone had written a huge phallic symbol on the dirty/salty door of a pickup truck parked at a tough spot, funny. Skiadikt- not surprised to see you skied a Saturday, boy, what a glorious week of weather that was. Stink...

Re: Monday 2/27 Report

We had one spot of weird surface at Cannon also as the Zoomer chairlift hadn't run for a few weeks, so ice that had fallen off the cables made one of my favorite lines "unusual" (not enough victims to break it up either, and they left it ungroomed). And my favorite trail here, Hardscrabble...
