Re: Superstar chair
But the grapevine also told me that bubbles don't work for mountain bikes. Is that true? If it is, somebody should tell Loon, because their Kank-8 bubble chair is what they use for their mountain bike park. As to the interconnect, seems to me it could be the logical long-term solution for Killingto...

Re: Superstar chair
The constant arguments about an interconnect are pretty hysterical in this context. Pico is open at best from end of December to the first weekend in April and we have seen that season as short at 1/6-3/15 in recent memory. In addition the interconnect itself is only viable on natural snow for mayb...

Is it even still valid? August 2023 document. A lot can change in 9 months on this thing.winter wrote: ↑Apr 30th, '24, 10:56 A lot of new details here about what is proposed:

Re: Superstar chair
I can't see why supe chair is the priority, skyeship should be at least refurbished and ramshead should be replaced with a 6 pack before supe gets touched, they just want a shiny new toy on TV for thanksgiving. I think from an outside perspective this is 100% true, but from what I have heard SS is ...

Re: Superstar chair
I think it should be assumed they aren't going to reinstall another quad and it will be a 6. If capacity is a concern, it can be installed at or near current capacity but engineered to grow. Don't think the towers will be re-used regardless if they kept it a quad. Skye Peak towers were re-used becau...

Re: Superstar chair
The comments on air are correct. On the older fixed grips there is literally a manual level that you pump up the service brake to release it.
I think if you did a true capacity study the Superstar pod would support a 6 pack but could also remain a quad.

If they had the money they could go cut the interconnect tomorrow, it's permitted.

Re: tuesday 4/23 report
I think they could spare a couple guns over the 4,000 hours they make snow on SS throughout the season to get the Ovation to SS cutover deeper for spring. Every year it's the same situation and every year it's not addressed.

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
Things are going to melt quick looking at the forecast from here on out. I think any talk of anything beyond SS after this weekend is probably wishful thinking purely from a coverage perspective.

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
I don't get the intentional under promise and over deliver mentality that has seemed to plague the place lately. They have the 10 day forecast the same as everyone else and have to have a good handle on the staffing situation with the reduced footprint. A fairly confident operating plan (like any ot...

Re: Only Superstar Quad After this Weekend!
Sugarbush is not what I'd call a well-run resort. They've had constant lift problems the last few seasons. Seems to be a lack of basic maintenance. Multiple times when there was enough snow, they didn't run Slide Brook, which means you can't ski the whole mountain. I didn't get a survey either. It'...

Re: Only Superstar Quad After this Weekend!
If they can scrape together staff to run 3 lifts for mountain biking most of the off-season when there are 12 people there they can run K-1 and Bear for another weekend. It's a bean counting move.
