Re: 2024 BMMC KZONE campsite is Saturday April 6TH

I don't understand what the rush is to close Stage I prior to BMMC. Especially considering they didn't get it open until mid January.
They spent all that money on the lodge, making snow down there twice and just got a lease on life for GE, etc.

Re: Thursday 03/28/202 Report

Is it realistic to know the status of all 155 trails prior to opening?

Also if you're basing your day or dress attire on weather from a Snow Report...

There is plenty of criticize, but this is just nitpicking.

Re: Sunday, March 24th report

Gravel is still not great for the cats either. There a reason they park them at the snow line early and late season, because the trip from the barn over the junk is a lot of wear and tear.

A chained loader with a 12 foot snow pusher is pretty unstoppable though.

Maybe they did the "K leak repair" ie dig down to the leak and cover it with evergreen boughs to keep it from bubbling up and then backfill lol.

Re: Base Camp At Bear can Start Phase 1

The developer (Ottaquechee Realty Advisors) owns the parcel already as far as I know. I would assume the trail and snowmaking work will begin as soon as it dries out if these dates are going to be met. They rent Tier 4s which are comparable quiet and if you're up to them close, no visible smoke. A s...

Re: Base Camp At Bear can Start Phase 1

In a recent subdivision approval of the Base Camp parcel (for phase 1 2 and 3) it was noted: "At this time, some tree clearing has commenced on Parcel B, but ORA has not yet commenced any earth work or ground disturbance; ORA anticipates that it will commence general site work in May 2024 and v...

Re: Superstar 2024

They definitely don't want to be done, but mother nature may not give them another chance. It has to be in the teens this late to be worth it. If the weather pattern remains the same with no major snowmaking opportunities, May will be a stretch.

Re: Midweek on the South Ridge

Utilties go through there it will never change. Think the not great workaround would be: -Ski down Snowshed to the future ski bridge across the access road (which hopefully will be less or a shlep). -Ski down Snowshed and ride the future transfer lift from the village to K-1 area. -Or the idea most ...
