Re: Last Trail Standing
So those who have skied the new for one-year late season offering, do you prefer this variety of trails in the canyon rather than just Superstar? There would have to be a minimum of 2 lifts running to serve this trail pod and the last 2 weeks of May probably would not be possible. The K 1 gondola wo...

Re: monday 4/21 report
first day of what's usually superstar season - guess this year it's canyon season. beautiful blue skies, temps in the 50's. fun meter was a spinal tap crank it up to 11. more peeps than expected. 9-2 shift. quit when the clouds swallowed up the sun. other than the HW, skied all open terrain. at the...

Re: sunday 4/20 report
Started at Bear, that was a mistake. Interesting trip to get to the basin. One of the first on the Needles chair, got off and took a right to Bittersweet, Narrow icy rocky path. Went from there to the K 1 gondola, walked right on. Upper mnt in better shape, butt after last night's r*in and late free...

Re: Snowdon Six - What's wrong with it?
shocking thing to me is how poorly those poma bubble lifts have aged compared to dopp. remember thinking on opening day for the Kanc 8, this is a nice lift but it is going to be destroyed in a month. thing still looks new several years later, bubbles in good shape, no stickers/gouges or graffiti, n...

Re: Snowdon Six - What's wrong with it?
Your car will use more gas with less MPG the faster you go. Lifts will consume more KWH the faster they are run. Less wear and tear on components at slower speeds also. Max lift speed is controlled by code requirements based on the difference in load speed at the ramps. You can run more FPM with a l...

Re: Snowdon Six - What's wrong with it?
Conveyor loading lifts are a joke. Unless it's advanced only terrain people struggle with the snow/conveyor transition, meaning they have to run the chair slower (closer to normal fixed grip speed) to avoid constant stoppages. This negates the reason for putting in a conveyor. They put one in at Sn...

I just talked with friends of mine who skied it today and it was assume. People were even skiing Hardscrabble. They said there was a lot of new snow.

Re: KZONE Campsite for the 2025 BMMC
Hopefully this will change before Saturday: Saturday A chance of snow before 1pm, then a chance of r*in and snow between 1pm and 2pm, then r*in likely after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Windy, with a south wind 17 to 22 mph increasing to 28 to 33 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipita...
