Re: Midweek on the South Ridge

While I didn't ride it, it was definitely running yesterday.

Re: Midweek on the South Ridge

The Canyon Quad takes about 8 minutes and 15 seconds to ride. If the K1 runs at the full 1000 fpm, then it's 6.5 minutes from when the doors close to when they open. But you need to add in the time for taking skis off, walking down the stairs and through the queue, walking down the stairs at the top...

Re: Midweek on the South Ridge

I don't see a need for all 3 to run midweek, but I like the theory of running North Ridge every day and alternating Canyon and South Ridge. I wouldn't want to see Canyon not run at all Monday-Thursday. Lapping the K1 sucks because they run it at a snail's pace on weekdays, and then add in the time t...

Re: wednesday 2/28 report

I would've liked to see more, but as you pointed out, no one is going 100% this time of year. Many resorts have finished snowmaking for the year.

Re: Outer Limits is Neglected

Seems like a lot of their issues come back to lack of snowmaking capacity. Yet year after year, they refuse to do anything about it.

Re: Is Killington insolvent?

2013 was the first year of the extended season. So it was 2013 through 2023 with the same schedule, except for 2020. 10 seasons with the same schedule and pass arrangement, and now they cut a third of the days out of nowhere.

And they aren't. They are just saying something to the effect of "why are you spouting rumors you haven't confirmed". Well we have confirmation now.

Re: Is Killington insolvent?

For 10 seasons, they had the same schedule. So what changed? And then we must assume that they will continue with these cuts. What's next? No early season weekdays? Not opening at all until Thanksgiving? Since they are willing to make sneaky budget cuts like this after spring passes are on sale, the...

Re: Is Killington insolvent?

Another sneaky budget cut: Fridays in May are no more. They aren't selling tickets for them. Only Saturdays and Sundays. Since midweek passes aren't valid on weekends in May, now those people can't ski after May 5th. Oh wait... they'll gladly sell you a 200 dollar spring pass upgrade so you can.

So they botched the drive replacement? They can't seem to get anything right this year.

It's been a Friday-Sunday lift like forever. It just ran daily last week due to the holiday period.

Re: thursday 2/22 report

They almost skipped Upper Pike. Zero chance. After the budget cuts, they were back to making snow on one trail at a time like they did before.

Re: Closing Skyship

Usually that is indicative of a problem with the connector itself, or a delay on one of the stages. It takes some time to connect them, so if one of the stages was delayed, they might just run them independently once both are open, rather than have to stop the lift for 10 minutes to connect them.
