You’ll have that when you don’t track pack and dont understand proper snow and slope management

Re: Expansion
Days like today confirm Killington as the Beast of the East. Kudos to the team managing huge crowds and delivering a great product. Nick Bredice, Tuff Luv, and Yonder also all killed it.
Re: Expansion
Yeah Fluffer, this line looks like success.

Re: Expansion
It slid because there is a "flat" layer of porcelin ice beneath the new snow. No amount of boot packing's gonna fix that as the packers will just slide down it as well.
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down

Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!

Re: Expansion
Totally agree - It is what it is with the crowds. At least K had all of the lifts running through the day which made it OK re: lift lines if you knew where to avoid. And they ran the Outpost chair at Pico !

Track packing is running a snowcat over it without tilling the snow, so it leaves deep scars in the surface.Captain Hafski wrote: ↑Feb 4th, '24, 10:18 It slid because there is a "flat" layer of porcelin ice beneath the new snow. snowmaking back on lower o. running on supe from launch down and they fired up lower skye lark as well in addition to continuing on the pipe and whatever they're doing on dream. can't accuse them of dogging it today.
and at pico making snow on a-slope and a cut-off. and yes running outpost and bronco groomed. their lot was full today.

Not dogging it but frustrating to see any resources put into Superstar right now. I guess that's it after O is done.

Re: Expansion
snowmaking top-to-bottom on supe. getting huge. ovation headwall & lower o. lower skye lark. cranking out a ton of snow on all 3 trails in perfect conditions.
they can run at least into wednesday. not sure whether they go anywhere from here. the biggest needs are wildfire & lower pipedream. vertigo is on the wish list and the fantasy pick is the fiddle.
gets warm & questionable starting thursday but there's another good window starting next tuesday. remains to be seen whether the fat lady is singing on this round.

Definitely, those are the two glaring ommisions before you get to the nice to haves. Did they make snow on Upper Pipe Dream earlier this season? It's skiing beautifully on natural if they didn't.skiadikt wrote: ↑Feb 5th, '24, 16:57 snowmaking top-to-bottom on supe. getting huge. ovation headwall & lower o. lower skye lark. cranking out a ton of snow on all 3 trails in perfect conditions.

Re: Expansion
not sure about pipedream but don't think so. and if they didn't, then it's less likely they'd make it on lower because if upper melts out first because it's nat, then how do you get to lower.newpylong1 wrote: ↑Feb 5th, '24, 19:44Definitely, those are the two glaring ommisions before you get to the nice to haves.
