Bringing my brother up for 3 days of skiing - 1/10 -1/13. He hasn't been to K, I haven't been to Pico - and don't necessarily need to - unless the majority here sway me.
Should we take 1/2 a day at Pico? Full day?
Can anyone compare the bump and tree runs to what's available at K? Doesn't have to be very specific, I'm just trying to get a feel for what's over there.
If anyone will be skiing that Wed-Thurs, I might stop by the 10:00 (if there is one mid-week).
Thanks in advance.

gotta check out pico, even if its for a half day, assuming you both have passes. if you dont, buy the killington ticket which is also good over there. i like pico, but tend to get a little bored after a while as there arent that many options over there. connect it already...
he would shove your ass so far up your ass and stuff! -thejet61 10/2/09
If a snowboarder is in front of me or to the side I assume the slobbering moron will cut from one side of the trail to the other -GSKI 1/17/12

Pico - awesome if K is crowded.DoubleD wrote:Bringing my brother up for 3 days of skiing - 1/10 -1/13. He hasn't been to K, I haven't been to Pico - and don't necessarily need to - unless the majority here sway me.

If K is not crowded, then you won't go even if we tell you to.

Our lift tix are good at both. That's why I'm asking. I figure K shouldn't be crowded - being midweek and the holidays are over. Just curious to see who would tell me to head over to Pico - and what their recommendations would be given average conditions.johnny the jibber wrote:gotta check out pico, even if its for a half day, assuming you both have passes. if you dont, buy the killington ticket which is also good over there. i like pico, but tend to get a little bored after a while as there arent that many options over there. connect it already...
Go with the snow! If Pico gets hit with fresh stuff and I would encourage you to go there. Bumps? Summit Glades has some really fun bumps. I would consider it a longer and more intense West Glade.
Under the yellow double chair is a real fun lift line that bumps up great.
I can dow Upper Giant Killer all day when there is snow on it.
The Poma is an experience not to be missed if there is cover.

Re: To Pico or Not To Pico
Unless thy get a dump, I'd say know. I was thinking about doing it Friday 12/23, the first day of my vaca up there before the r*in, but decided not to. Talked to someone on the lift who said it's no where near ready. Not completely opened and bear spots. With the crappy conditions go to K, where at least they have good coverage.DoubleD wrote:Bringing my brother up for 3 days of skiing - 1/10 -1/13. What he said. If you do luck into a powder day, ski Killington until it is tracked out, which doesn't take long on weekends and then head to Pico for more fresh. Pico doesn't have the sustained steeps of Killington, but has some great terrain, no lift lines and a HSQ to bring you back to the summit. The Outpost chair has some fun terrain.skiadikt wrote:i think pico needs to be fully open to be good. need more snow to open the nat trails. on a pow day it rocks.
