Oooh, you just missed a Maison Neuff. I did it in '94 on Inteceptor,Dr. NO wrote:Severe internal bruise of my right Calf when my right ski desided to go into a hole and twist and press my leg around in the boot doing about 40 MPH. Still cannot buckle the top of the boot after 4 weeks so I use only the power strap on the right boot. Fergetabout trying to put on the Dobermann Race boots. Just ain't gonna happen until the calf is small again.
Good Ole Days? Dam, glad I missed it. Also, glad I didn't get the full Monti on this. Spiral Fracture of the fibula? OUCH. Actually I figured the way it swelled and held fluid, plus no bruise for a week, I might have fractured it. still a posibility, but Doc felt it was OK after I showed up 2 weeks after the fact. Hopefully I will never attempt the fracture route again. The bruise hurts quite enough.buzzkill wrote:Oooh, you just missed a Maison Neuff. the flat run out of course, in some EC cement, after bouncing all through the crap on the upper trail unscathed. The Langes were so stiff we used
to leave the top buckles way slack. Leg twists in the boot, the binding
doesn't release because of that, the fibula spirals on the top and the
inside of your leg calf to ankle is shredded. Only seven weeks in a
cast no surgery, can't bitch, but I was never the same. The thing I
most remember is the ride from the first aid station under KBL to
the clinic down at Snowshed at the time. They came with a pickup,
said you want the front seat or the back bed, full of sand. I took the
front seat, of course the guy slams the door on my cardboard boxed
leg and I had to shift the gears while he clutched. Ah, the good old days.
