right, but as far as mtn bike suspension forks go, scott was one of the 1st on the scene next to rock shox and manitou. suspension bikes have been around since the early 1900's...
i have a raleigh downstairs from 1958 with a suspension fork on it...

If a snowboarder is in front of me or to the side I assume the slobbering moron will cut from one side of the trail to the other -GSKI 1/17/12

For my money Rock Shox are the best available - I currently ride the 100mm Recon but I like the Indy also.
I took my old Cannondale F400 hardtail out this weekend - just a short little 7 mile or so jaunt thru a very steep rockgarden close by. Well it was still a bit more than damp from the r*in, and there were leaves making things a bit more technical than they had to be... but the main issue during what became an ordeal was the bike. I never really liked Cannondale's Head Shock (P Bone M Fatty) and was given a solid demonstration as to why. No travel, a tendency to pogo, and stiff.
I stayed clean and dry, but the front tire caught in some roots - pogoed right into the hole between them and came within a c-hair of endoing on a very steep downhill onto the roots and rocks (the Rock Shoks would bounce right over them and have in the past which is why I picked that extact line). The family jewels were definately bruised on the stem, but luckily was was all that happened. An endo there could easily mean a trip to the hospital.
Maybe I am just soft from riding full suspension (Maestro) lately, but then again maybe the Cannondale just sucks!
I rode the Indy out at Moab a couple of years ago - I lucked out and rented a Specialized Rockhopper Comp that had only been ridden once before. That was so sweet - that particular hardtail seemed custom made for Slickrock - back then the RH Comp ran the Indy but now I think they are sporting the Recon.

pulled the trigger on these:

scarpa t2x telemark boots. size 32 - which i believe is the biggest tele boot made. hopefully they're big enough.
already have the skis and bindings.. needto get them mounted though. can a normal ski shop mount tele bindings? bling?

Rock Shocks forks were not holding up to well untill SRAM took them over- FOX is making some really nice stuff, Cannondales latest forks have FOX inners, the new Leftys are pretty sick, the have a valve that will keep the shock locked out unless it recieves a blow from the bottom (Same as the Fox FLoat RP3) so you can stand up out of the saddle and start mashing on the peddles and fork will not move until you hit a bump.yeti wrote:For my money Rock Shox are the best available - I currently ride the 100mm Recon but I like the Indy also.
