Basin ski shop customer service thumbs up!

Post by SkiDork »

as most of you know, Iceman broke his skis and got a new pair from the Basin. I had posted a pic of them in another post. He absolutely loves them!

Well, I was browsing the Line website, and it turns out they're the girls model. I guess the guys helping me out weren't aware...

Anyway, if it were me I wouldn't care but of course if a 9 year old boy found out he'd prolly die from embarrasment. He skied on them Sat and Sunday, so far nobody noticed...

I fired off an e-mail to Rick, and within an hour he called me here at work. He basically said "I apologize for the error, and I'll work on setting it right" - no questions asked.

Kudos to Rick for excellent customer service!

Agreed. I wouldn't care. They're the EXACT same ski, just different graphics...

But imagine him going to a B mogul comp. with those, and some kid noticing they're girls? Fuggettaboutit...

Thumbs up on making it right, Rick!

I've always liked the Basin. I'll be there Fri night getting my wife fitted in some new boots.

Anyone know if Ray is working friday night?

yup.

Not sure what he wants to do - whether to get different skis altogether or just the boys version. I'm gonna ask him tonight.

Then Iceman could just own them in the competition, and say "well look who skis like a girl" JK

I bought some Predator pants from some guy online. He said they were a little small. Turns out they are Womens pants. I can't get my hands in the pockets, but they are quite slimming.

Too bad I didn't get them at the Basin.

(They've got some good boot fitters there as well.)

Thumbs up to Basin, but I think Iceman should keep the skis. Toughen the boy up!

I've only been in there once ... but the people that helped me were great. The man who helped me actually talked me out of the expensive Oakley goggles and into something better.

I bought the same Line skiis for my 13 yr old son at the Basin in E. Dec.
and it was brought to our attention that the Pink skiis were the girls model( in graphics only). I didn't care but boy my 13 yr old did. Luckily we were together at the sale and we moved quickly over to the "Boys" model.
I can't stand the graphics but who am i to say what a kid likes. I agree about the Basin.. Rick, and his staff ..Great shop!
