Was up there about a half hour ago, and they had the guns going on Reason, and Rime above Great Northern, but nothing on Rime below Great Northern...
Spinmaster actually makes it sound like they are base building from what he said, about temps looking good through Monday, and at the time for the whole week, but it just seems weird they would be base building 3 weeks before they open, its very early for them to be doing so...

Sunday River is starting later tonight. They are talking like they are going to build a base.

It's part of their new plan to open and operate with more base depths than they have in the past. We'll see how long this lasts given competition and the vagaries of New England weather.skiingsnow wrote:Was up there about a half hour ago, and they had the guns going on Reason, and Rime above Great Northern, but nothing on Rime below Great Northern...

I would guess that they're starting from the top down, so we'll see in the morning how far they got overnight.skiingsnow wrote:Was up there about a half hour ago, and they had the guns going on Reason, and Rime above Great Northern, but nothing on Rime below Great Northern...

Weather.com has 59* for Wedneday for town of Killington... 6 of the next 10 days is suppost to be in the 50's for the town of Killington. If the top is 10-15* colder the entire time thats still 35-49* at the top. Also r*in in the forecast.millerm277 wrote:I would guess that they're starting from the top down, so we'll see in the morning how far they got overnight.skiingsnow wrote:Was up there about a half hour ago, and they had the guns going on Reason, and Rime above Great Northern, but nothing on Rime below Great Northern...

I hope so too!! Ive been looking at that snow for Monday night all day, hope it really happens!! But have you read my posts in recent weeks, where accuweather has been predicting snow and/or cold weather for weeks now, and it hasn't happened.... I read their forecasts a lot, but I consider their forecasts less reputable (sp?) then The Weather Channel...millerm277 wrote:Accuweather disagrees.skiingsnow wrote:Weather.com has 59* for Wedneday for town of Killington... 6 of the next 10 days is suppost to be in the 50's for the town of Killington. No matter which forecast you look at, they all seem to have snowmaking temps every night!

This needs a bump.... We cant have the Mount Snow Snowmaking at the top, and the Killington Snowmaking down 15 threads

I'm still not seeing the fantastic snowmaking temps all week... The forecast still hasn't changed at all right now, from this afternoon, and im seeing 55* Tuesday, 60* Wednesday, 39* Wednesday Night, showers @ 52* Thursday, showers @ 52* Sunday, showers likely Sunday Night, 52* Monday, showers likely Tuesday @ 52*, Showers likely Tuesday Night. I HATE being negative, but thats quite a bit of warmth, and several chances for r*in for the next 10 days, and although it will be colder on the mountain, it will still be too warm to make snow during most days and some nights , and it will be melting almost everyday. . . They could make a foot every night thats cold enough, and they will lose a few inches a day to warmth and/or r*in, not to mention they are making snow on warm unfrozen ground, with streams running wild all over from the several inches of r*in a few days ago...
