re: Groomed snow on Ovation and SS.

I think that is just where they had mowed the grass this fall. Cover those areas with a few inches of snow and it gives the appearance of groomed snow. :|

Little helmet cam footy from today

it looks a lot better then it actually was, there was a lot of wind crust in addition to the freeze which created a thin skin over everything. Plus there was 6-7 inches of snow on top of no base so it was VERY easy to wind up getting grabbed by a snowsnake. I probably could have brought the fat skis, but opted for the 160cm swizzle sticks to keep the speed down a bit.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

That's what I thought but I had someone insisting to me that she'd seen groomer tracks earlier in the morning.

they had been up and down the mountain with snowcats, because you could see the tracks. What was interesting is that only some of the guns were set out on the upper parts of rime/reason and NONE of the guns anywhere on the mountain had hoses attached to them. It doesn't look like K is ready to make snow anytime soon

no sh*t :-x

first time skiing with it, I need to spin the aim up a bit higher but its tough cause you can't check the playback. I will say that due to the conditions I was consciously looking closer to my ski tips then I normally do. I did mark where I had it set today so hopefully that will give me a reference point for future helmetcam excursions

Interesting. Nyberg said last night that they were just waiting for the humidity to drop, presuming cold enough temperatures of course.

there could be guns with hoses on them further up the mountain as I only made it to homerun, from what I saw in the glades area they are not ready to make snow, but how long could it possibly take to connect a hose?

I was more shocked that there were no guns on the lower half of rime

takes no time to drag setups down the trail and hook them up. they will be ready when the temps and stuff work out
