I'm considering switching to an iphone and wondered what kind of coverage people experience traveling from North Jersey to Killington (and surrounding areas). My blackberry and cell are via Verizon and I get good reception all the way up but almost no reception at my place in Pittsfield. On the other hand, since installing a fancy signal booster in the house, my wife's cell is getting multiple cell bars (indoors!) and she has AT&T (via a partner carrier of some sort)... which suddenly has me wondering if it's at all possible for me to dump my Verizon blackberry and cell for an iphone.

If you have an iphone and AT&T, how's your reception on the way up and what's it like when you reach the Killington area?

What kinda booster do you have?

Get almost zero service at my house on Rt4.

Still waiting for them to get off their butts and finish that cell tower they promised on River Road area.

We have the Z Boost

That's a lot of cash for something that may not work where I live.

Will have to wait for the locals to stop being assclowns and let Verizon finish the tower.

The touch screen doesn't work very well in subfreezing temps (unless your hands are warm). I found I could make one call - but two was tough - frozen fingers don't trigger the touch screen.

i got cell service almost every time i checked on my last trip up to VT on 91. works in killington too, but again no 3G service in VT (nor does verizon). the phone itself is the best phone in the world right now, and i don't see any phone coming out to rival it. the apps alone make the thing worth it, and the internet works really well in 3G. couldn't recommend this thing more...i used to have verizon and switched just to get the 3G iphone. no complaints yet.

This may be correct for ATT, however your statement is incorrect for Verizon. Verizon has 3G service in the Killington area, my BlackBerry indicated it this past weekend and judging by the speed that the internet was loading I would say that it is correct.

You have to admit though, there are times when being unreachable at the Long Trail Brewery most definately isn't a bad thing

HOO RAH! Just turn the damn thing off when you belly up to the bar. Want to make a call, go outside and let us talk and drink our beers in peace (or is that piece?). Sat at a bar last night and the guy YELLED into his phone for 5 minutes. I am sure the phone worked fine, but he was probably deaf and figured it was the phone connection.
