My phone call with Nyberg

Post by BumpMeister »

Yes, I received a phone call from Nyberg today. He realized his actions were inapporpriate and apologized for the way he responded to my email on BMMC and regretted doing it. He even said he would talk to my supervisor to smooth things over. I advised that was not necesarry and I in turn apologized to him if he felt my email was in any way a personal attack on him.

I am sure there will be doubters to the validity of all this. I can ask both Stormchaser and Shortski to get confirmation on this when they meet with Nyberg and Tom Horrocks next week.

Give Nyberg due credit. He manned up and took responsibility for his actions. This small geture speaks volumes and I think that Killington is finally listening to us. Hopefully the meeting next week between K-zoners and Killington will be productive.

Would Nyberg have manned up and taken responsibility for his actions if you hadn't (rightfully) shamed him into doing so?

Does this "small gesture" speak volumes about Nyberg's genuine regret over his asinine, unprofessional behavior, or his genuine regret over the fact that his asinine, unprofessional behavior went public and blew up in his face?

Is next week's meeting occuring because, after two years, PowdrKillington suddenly cares about what a small but vocal group of chat room members have to say, or is it merely a last-minute attempt at damage control and one-on-one placation?

Just askin'...

Give it a freakin' rest already. The guy made a mistake. He apologised for it. End of story.

At this point, I would imagine Killington is looking for constructive customer feedback. We all want the place to get better other'n maybe the professional internet trolls. Why don't you do something constructive and list the first 10 things you would do to improve the customer experience at Killington? .... and firing Chris Nyberg or Tom Horrocks ain't within the parameters.

I agree with Geoff. I'm satisfied witht the apology and i beleive Killington management is sincere in opening up dialog with us. Time to move on. Lets focus our efforts on restoring Killington as the King of Vermont skiing.

Yes, MAN UP JG! :P You won't get an answer, of course. You never do...

I agree with Geoff, time for some constructive ideas instead of the constant attack of internet trolls who don't give a rats ass about the place. Do people really want the place to go down the toilet? In this economy, who do you think is gonna step in if POWDR and SP Land fails? From what I can gather they're one of the very few companies in the ski resort business that aren't on the verge of bankrupcy...

JG you have been outed as an Okemo PR guy... care to respond?
As "an Okemo PR guy", I would like to respond in the form of a press release:

For Immediate Release
April 9, 2009
Okemo Mountain Resort

Okemo PR Guy Single-Handedly Brings Down Entire Competing Ski Resort Through Random Posts On A Chat Room
"Who Knew Computurs Could Be So Powerful?", asks Former Killington President Chris Nyberg

Ludlow, Vermont -- From his command post high atop Okemo Mountain, JerseyGuy -- real name, Steve "Foster" Gillis Rathbun -- issued a statement regarding the complete and total destruction of Killington Resort through a few hundred well-placed chat room posts.

"I knew I could do it," chortled JerseyGuy, or "JG" as he is known in the trade. "It was only a matter of time until my timely, focused, well-written chat room scribbles would bring down an entire ski empire. I shall use Killington as overflow parking for my sprawling Okemo megapolis."

JerseyGuy then revealed that, as the sole owner of CNL, he in fact is the actual owner of Okemo Mountain Resort.

"C'mon, now. Who didn't see that one coming?" laughed JerseyGuy.

JerseyGuy then announced the appointment of Thomas "Tommy Boy" Spinmaster(K) Horrocks as the new President and General Manager of the Okemo Satellite Parking Lots at Killington(tm).

"Tom's been in on this from the start," said JerseyGuy. "You didn't really think we were enemies, did you? Tom's been working from within to undermine Powdr Corp. Together, we're an unbeatable team.

Stratton, you're next!"

Kind of my viewpoint, too. I mean, he tried to get you fired ... pretty crazy. Imagine what would have done if BM actually lost his job!

TGR would/will have a field day with this if they're not already.
