Last October I inadvertently booked myself into a "Pet Friendly" hotel. I don't think I would ever do that again. After two nights of being awake from 1 am to 3 am because of barking dogs, I'd think twice. I don't care the customer brought in the dog, or his friend did. The policy was stated as "No pets." It's simply not fair to the other guests. I'd be just as upset if someone "lit up" in the next room, because, trust me, I'd be able to smell it.

I think he was very lucky that he got back part of the fee.

Yeah, but that's like having somebody come into your room and fire up a cigarette. If that happens, you're going to get slammed with a charge to clean the room since they have to do curtains, bedspread, carpet, and wash the walls. There are people out there who are very allergic to animal dander. If it's a "no pets" room and somebody ends up having an allergic reaction, they can get sued or at least have the room charge kicked back from the credit card company. If it's AMEX and that happened to a guest, that room fee is gone. It's probably even worse at a Quartershare property since some of the owners with allergy problems are probably really militant about strict enforcement of a no pets policy.
I'm with ya Geoff... No pets = no pets. I'm surprised K bent.

There must be some ambiguity in how the pet clause is written, if K volunteered half the charge back... If it stated, "no pets permitted on the premisis", why would they give any money back? Anyone got a K Grand disclaimer sheet lying around? I'm curious.

Wasn't that the point of the post? It's a firm policy, but K helped them out (I suspect) hoping they return again next year ... hence good customer service or perhaps quality customer relationship management.

You're right, I feel like bending their policy shows they are starting to come around. We sold our home after ASC took cover, and had come back that weekend to look to buy again.

A little about us, after we sold our home at Killington, we bought at Sugarbush, but are bored silly up there.

Can you expand on that, explaining what kind of skier you are, and why you are bored at Sugarbush but not at Killington?

Ditto. Is it the skiing/terrain that bores you or the lack of other non-skiing activities to do in the area? If it is the skiing, what is it that Killington offers better than Sugarbush?
Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, then overwhelm you with their experience.

Well there's not as much to do on mountain, as far as dining and night life. Our neighbors in other ski homes are bit on the boring side. We enjoy having friends over, bbq's, drinks, etc. Not much of that going on at Sugarbush.

Waterbury and Warren are great towns, but again on the quiet side.

As far as terrain goes, I find the skiing far more challenging and interesting at Killington. Where the bush does better is on lifts, grooming, and customer service.

If Killington can continue to get it's act together, we will return.

Man, this pathetic yokel just keeps getting more and more amusing.

You are "sure gald" you're "done with any job /business on the mtn."? How can that be? Did you mean to say you're done for the season, or did you manage to get your ass fired? Did you quit in a huff because they required a reading test? After such a "great" year you claimed to have, how is this possible? (Have you started receiving your Vermont state unemployment checks yet, or is there a waiting period for that?)

Better yet, now you're reduced to talking trash about your imaginary "local police buddy" who will single out people with New Jersey license plates? What are you, eight years old?

What a sad little nothing of a man you've turned out to be. Go crash your car into a wall, or something... it'll make you feel better. (Just remember to cash that unemployment check first.)
